Club Highlights:

Farmington Country Club is a premier, full-service private club in Central Virginia.  Farmington is a member-owned club founded in 1927, and recognized as a Platinum Club of America.  Portions of the clubhouse date to 1780 and were designed by Thomas Jefferson.  The grounds of Farmington Country Club cover 275 landscaped acres and include the clubhouse, guest rooms, athletic facilities, tennis courts and golf course.

The club has two restaurants, an upscale dining room (195 seats) a grill restaurant (215 seats) and a fast-casual poolside grill; each has its own kitchen. In addition, there are private dining rooms seating 100, 50, 40 and 12, a ballroom seating 250 and two seasonal snack bars.  Sports facilities include a 27-hole golf course, 15 outdoor and three indoor tennis courts, three paddle tennis courts, a swimming complex with diving and lap pools and a zero-depth recreation area, and a professionally staffed fitness center. Club facilities include 39 guest rooms.

Restaurant Highlights:

The Blue Ridge Room identifies as an upscale casual restaurant with a focus on seafood and a premier beverage experience.

The Blue Ridge Room has four different dining spaces – the Bar & Lounge, the Porch, the Terrace and the Wine Room. Member expectations often differ between the spaces, although they are still there to enjoy the same great food, elevated beverages, and excellent service.

The Bar & Lounge is vastly a cocktail space with some members enjoying small plates or dinner. The bar is typically set with 10 barstools and 7 tables / 25 seats. The room is serviced by the two bartenders who take care of both the barstools and the tables. The Bar is the only dining area of the club that is 21+. The TV’s present a more casual space than the porch with the same menu and service and cause increased business during football & basketball season.

The Porch is the main dining space of the restaurant and where all reservations are booked. We see most of our more formal business, birthday or anniversary dinners, as well as large parties on the Porch. The tables by the French doors are almost always requested. The Porch has 14 tables / 70 seats and is serviced by 2-3 servers depending on the volume. The Porch also holds the main service station in the restaurant which is where the team preps water service, mise en place plates, glassware, napkins, rollups and condiments.

The Terrace is the busiest area of the restaurant during Spring, Summer and Fall. With one of the best views in Charlottesville, the terrace provides a beautiful atmosphere that our members love. The Terrace, with 14 tables / 75 seats, is the most family friendly and casual area, with an outside bar, soft seating areas, and Adirondack chairs available for cocktailing. Service can be very spread out throughout the terrace and during the busiest times it can take 2-3 servers and 2-3 support staff to efficiently manage service on the terrace alone.

The Wine Room offers a private dining option for guests of the Blue Ridge Room for parties of 4-12 people, offering a prix-fixe menu and wine pairings. Wine Room service is available on nights that the Blue Ridge Room is open and often used as a space for members to celebrate specials occasions or hold private business dinners.
