The Driving Club has extensive facilities for athletic pursuits, dining and entertaining, and the most beautiful and elegant banquet facilities in the southeast.
 
Our Main Clubhouse, located in Midtown Atlanta, offers both casual and formal à la carte dining in The Park Room, The Horseshoe and Above the Horseshoe, and The Main Bar and banquet space to accommodate private functions ranging from an intimate dinner to events for 800 or more.
 
Superior athletic facilities at this location include men's and ladies' health clubs, tennis courts, squash courts, and an Olympic-size swimming pool. Our Athletic Department offers a variety of health and fitness awareness programs in addition to state-of-the-art fitness equipment and expert guidance from our staff.
 
In 2000, the Club opened a second facility in southwest Atlanta for golf and recreation. This location offers an 18-hole championship golf course, 9-hole 3-Par course, Clubhouse and locker rooms, boating, fishing, and walking trails. Casual dining is available six days a week at the Golf Clubhouse and informal private functions may also be hosted at the Clubhouse.
 
The Main Clubhouse, except athletic facilities, is closed on Monday. The entire golf facility is closed on Tuesday.

Job Description

Position Summary

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and member experience of the Park Room restaurant. This position provides leadership to Assistant Restaurant Managers, Supervisors, and hourly team members while ensuring exceptional hospitality, operational excellence, financial stewardship, and consistent execution of Club standards.

The Restaurant Manager serves as the operational leader of the outlet, building strong relationships with members, developing leaders, maintaining accountability, and partnering closely with Culinary, Beverage, and Catering to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Essential Responsibilities

Operations & Administration

  • Lead the daily operation of the assigned restaurant, ensuring exceptional hospitality, operational efficiency, and consistent execution of Club standards.
  • Oversee scheduling, payroll approval, reservations, operational reporting, and revenue controls.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures, facility readiness, equipment maintenance, and compliance with Club policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvements.

Member Experience

  • Build strong relationships with members by learning their preferences and anticipating their needs. Ensure members receive personalized and anticipatory service.
  • Partner with Culinary and Beverage teams to continually enhance the dining experience.
  • Monitor member satisfaction, resolve concerns promptly, and implement improvements that enhance the overall dining experience. Foster a culture centered on hospitality and member satisfaction.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop Assistant Restaurant Managers and Supervisors.
  • Establish performance expectations and maintain accountability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching discussions.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting management and hourly team members.
  • Reinforce service standards and support training initiatives.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and employee engagement.
  • Recognize outstanding performance while addressing performance concerns appropriately.

Financial Performance

  • Manage departmental labor to budgeted expectations.
  • Assist in developing annual operating budgets.
  • Manage labor, revenue, operating expenses, and inventories to achieve departmental financial objectives while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and member participation.
  • Ensure proper POS procedures and revenue controls.
  • Review daily financial reports and operational metrics.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Executive Sous Chef and culinary leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Beverage Manager to execute wine and beverage initiatives.
  • Work with Catering, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, and Communications to support Club operations.
  • Support Club events and special functions as needed.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as assigned.

Licenses & Certifications

  • ServSafe Food Protection Certification (preferred)
  • TIPS or equivalent Alcohol Service Certification (preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling, and climbing stairs
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Candidate Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years of progressive restaurant management experience in a private club, luxury hotel, or upscale restaurant
  • Experience leading multiple levels of staff
  • Strong knowledge of food, beverage, wine service, and hospitality operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
  • CMAA coursework or similar hospitality leadership education
