The Baltimore Country Club is a 123-year-old establishment, founded in 1898 and consistently ranked as a top Platinum Club. It is a prestigious private club with two golf courses and is listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the United States and is one of only seven clubs nationwide to operate two campuses. Our championship East Course, designed by A. W. Tillinghast, has hosted 7 major tournaments and recently hosted the Big 10 Golf Championship in 2017 and 2018. The East Course has been highly recognized, among others, by Golf Digest, Golfweek and as one of the 100 “Most Prestigious Clubs in the World” by Links Magazine.

Other than golf, the club offers its members a full range of recreational and social amenities including, tennis, bowling, squash, swimming, paddle tennis, state-of-the-art fitness centers and elegant and casual dining and banquet facilities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A CLUBHOUSE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Baltimore Country Club’s Clubhouse Operations Manager oversees and supports the cohesive operation of multiple departments, including Housekeeping, Laundry, Locker Rooms, Valet & Transportation, and the Welcome House. This role is responsible for ensuring that the wants and needs of Club members and guests are consistently exceeded through superior service and seamless daily operations. This individual will lead department managers and staff in creating a consistently polished and professional environment for all who visit the Club.

This role involves hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff to promote a culture of service excellence and teamwork. The manager upholds the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, hospitality, and presentation across all clubhouse facilities.

In addition, the Clubhouse Operations Manager plans and manages departmental budgets, monitors labor and supplies costs, and ensures adherence to operating procedures. They are also responsible for overseeing inventory control and procurement, maintaining appropriate stock levels for smooth day-to-day operations.

Valet and transportation services fall under the manager’s oversight, ensuring efficient, courteous, and professional service at all times. A consistent and visible presence around the Club is essential, as the manager is expected to proactively address member or guest needs and concerns.

Collaboration with senior leadership and other departments is key to driving continuous improvement and delivering a consistently outstanding member experience.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong service instincts and at least 3 years of management experience overseeing multiple outlets. A working knowledge of clubhouse support services and the ability to build a high-performing team are essential.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong service instincts and at least 3 years of management experience overseeing multiple outlets. A working knowledge of clubhouse support services and the ability to build a high-performing team are essential.

Educational Requirements

  • A working knowledge of Laundry, Housekeeping, Transportation and Locker Room duties.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft office and basic software programs related to reservations and inventory control.
  • At least 3 years of Management experience overseeing multiple outlets
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, hospitality certification or related experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, be personable and enthusiastic and have the ability to effectively work as a leader and team member and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
