The Country Club of Jackson is Mississippi's largest private Club. Founded in 1914, the Club is very active and has grown to more than 120,000 square feet of facilities.  A large renovation ($14.6m) in 2008/09 has set the Club up for success for years to come.  One of 17 private Country Clubs in the US to host a PGA TOUR event.

Golf Facilities

  • 27 hole course, par 72, designed by John Fought
Host Club for the PGA TOUR's Sanderson Farms Championship. Redesigned Championship 18 by John Fought, completed in October 2008. Additional golf facilities include a full-length 9-hole course, expansive driving range and short game area.

Racquet Facilities

  • 14 outdoor lighted Hard courts
12 lighted courts, 8 clay and 4 hard, 8 pickleball

Swimming Facilities

  • 2 Outdoor
Large main pool, with diving board and dual tube slide; splash zone; baby pool; Snack Bar. Pool deck and gazebo as well as an adults only bar with cocktail servers.

Other Athletic Facilities

Large Fitness Center with free, machine weights; 3 Fitness studios (Pilates with reformers; spin; multi-purpose); complete Men's and Ladies Locker Room facilities. The Fitness Center also houses the Spa at CCJ, a high-end ladies day spa with 5 treatment rooms (including a nail salon with 4 stations) plus 2 men's treatment rooms. CCJ also has a United States Croquet Association, Croquet Court. And is host to USCA sanctioned Croquet tournaments. In 2020, CCJ branded our own high end coffee shop "Café 1914" that has aided our membership is a "work from home" environment .

Food and Beverage receives high marks at the CCJ. Food quality is excellent (we are known as the finest banquet facility in the metro Jackson area) and service is friendly. The Lower Level of the Clubhouse is the main member-dining area, comprising the Magnolia Grill (casual), TJ's (19th Hole) and Onyx (couples lounge). The outdoor Terrace can accommodate another 60+ weather permitting.

Food and Beverage Service Director

Job Description

Responsible for the supervision, development, and training of all food and beverage service personnel, to maintain a high level of service as well as ensure that the Club adheres to the standards that have been set forth by CCJ and as directed by Management. Participates with F&B Management in achieving revenue and expense benchmarks.Leading food and beverage Service to Members/Guests ensuring satisfaction, Member retention, and coordinating with the other Club departments as directed. Also, responsible for directing staff for successful execution the food and beverage activities and functions happening at the Club during his/her shift. Consistently display the Steps of Service at all opportunities to provide service.

  • At the direction and in conjunction with Management, participating in the hiring, developing and disciplining of all Food and Beverage service personnel in accordance with Club policies and procedures.
  • Ensure controls on time reporting via time keeping system are in place by computing the total hours and making sure the time is accurate. Ensure Employee Partners are adhering to mandated policies and procedures as outline in the Time Management Policy.
  • Implement various training programs to the service personnel to maintain a well-trained staff to achieve Service Excellence and drive Member satisfaction and retention. Specifically, maintaining high service standards.
  • As applicable, attend, lead and participate in all staff meetings, Food & Beverage meetings, as well as hold daily line-ups, weekly service training meetings and special training sessions when needed.

Candidate Qualifications

WORK EXPERIENCE: 2+ years’ experience at a captain level or F&B supervisor.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Food Handlers Certificate, ABC Certification, and CPR Certification preferred.
BUDGET CONTROL/RESPONSIBILITY: F&B revenues and expenses, cost controls, and labor control.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Computer skills, good communication skills, ability to be a strong leader.

EDUCATION: High school diploma required or equivalent.
