The Annapolis Yacht Club is a full service, year-round premier private yacht club that provides high-quality programs for its members. These include sailboat racing, cruising for sailors and power boaters, a vigorous junior sailing program, fun and educational winter activities, social events, and first-class dining and banquet facilities.

AYC is a prominent fixture in Annapolis, is a good corporate citizen, and provides select opportunities for non-members such as its Junior Sailing program. In addition, AYC's Race Committee supports club racing and world-class regattas and international championships. AYC members are pleased to welcome these competitors and other visiting yachtsmen to the Clubhouse and sailing facilities.

Clubhouse is divided with three distinct floors of dining. The Casual dining is on the 2nd level of the Clubhouse, with an indoor bar of 20 seats, indoor dining with about 100 seats & outdoor dining (in season) with about 150 seats. The Formal dining is on the 3rd floor with two rooms, The Bridge overlooks Spa Creek with about 100 seats & The Commodore's Room w/ Binnacle Lounge overlooks the Severn River. The Private function room called The Skipjack has three main areas, the interior dining room, outer deck area with an outer extension of the deck called The Terrace. New Facilities include the Spa Creek Galley and Burgee bar as well as a poolside Snack bar, in season.

Activity Center Clubhouse Manager

Annapolis Yacht Club – Annapolis, MD

The Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC), one of the nation’s premier private yacht clubs, is seeking a proactive and service-oriented Activity Center Clubhouse Manager to oversee daily operations of our Activity Center clubhouse. This role is critical to ensuring a welcoming, well-run environment that supports family-friendly member programs, events, and recreational activities.

Position Summary

The Activity Center Clubhouse Manager is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and member experience of the Activity Center facility. This includes supervising staff, coordinating schedules and events, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in both our front-of-house space and our outdoor and pool area, and serving as a key point of contact for members, guests, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the Activity Center clubhouse, ensuring a positive and professional member experience
Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate Activity Center staff
Coordinate facility usage for programs, fitness classes, youth activities, meetings, and special events
Ensure the clubhouse is clean, safe, well-maintained, and compliant with all safety standards
Collaborate with program leaders, department heads, and AYC leadership to support club initiatives
Manage supplies, equipment, and inventory for the Activity Center
Handle member inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally
Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and cost control related to the Activity Center
Enforce club policies and procedures consistently

Candidate Qualifications

Qualifications:

Prior experience in private club, clubhouse, recreation center, hospitality, or facilities management
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Excellent customer service mindset with the ability to interact effectively with members of all ages
Ability to multitask and manage operations in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by programming needs
Proficiency with POS, scheduling systems, basic computer applications, and administrative tasks

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a private club, marina, or member-based organization
Supervisory or management experience
Knowledge of youth programming, fitness, or recreational operations..
