Nestled among the majestic ridge lines and the world’s largest stand of Ponderosa Pines, Forest Highlands Golf Club is widely regarded as northern Arizona’s premier private residential golf community. More than a club, Forest Highlands is a traditional golf club with a genuine small-town atmosphere—where relationships are personal, families grow together, and generations create lasting memories.

Our membership is vibrant and highly engaged, with an average age of 55 and a growing number of younger families bringing new energy to the community. Members embrace an active lifestyle centered around two fully renovated clubhouses, championship golf, wellness, recreation, and a full calendar of social events. At 7,000 feet in Flagstaff’s cool mountain climate, the changing seasons shape the rhythm of life and work at Forest Highlands. Fall brings a beautiful transition, while winter offers a quieter, more reflective pace focused on preparation, planning, and enhancing operations for the year ahead. The Meadow Aquatics Facility is the heart of family activity, featuring a large resort-style swimming pool, a dedicated kiddie pool, an interactive splash pad, and a relaxing jacuzzi. With its lively, welcoming atmosphere and direct connection to Peaks Café—where Members can enjoy poolside dining and refreshments—it’s a place where families spend entire days together, and where staff play an important role in creating a fun, safe, and memorable experience for all ages. The Canyon Aquatics Facility provides a more relaxed, adult-focused setting. This quieter pool environment offers Members a place to unwind, swim laps, or enjoy peaceful time surrounded by the beauty of the pines. The Canyon pool appeals to Members seeking a calm, refined atmosphere and attentive, personalized service. Wellness Manager

Job Description

At Forest Highlands Golf Club, the Wellness Manager plays a key leadership role in delivering an exceptional wellness experience for our Members and Guests. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Fitness Center and Spa, ensuring the highest standards of service, professionalism, and facility excellence. The Manager leads fitness and spa programming, supports team development, and fosters a welcoming, relationship-driven environment that enhances overall Member satisfaction.

As part of a collaborative Recreation team, this role also provides operational support across Concierge, Programs, and Aquatics/Facilities as needed throughout the year, reflecting the seasonal nature of our Club. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is passionate about wellness, service excellence, and creating meaningful Member connections. Weekend and holiday availability is required, particularly during our active summer season.

Candidate Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fitness, wellness, spa, or related hospitality operations, including some leadership, supervisory, or management experience with staff support or daily operational oversight.

  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification required, or ability to obtain upon hire.

  • Current nationally recognized Certified Personal Trainer credential (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent).

  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience delivering personal training and/or teaching group fitness classes.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to support, motivate, and guide team members.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for providing exceptional, personalized service.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Professional, dependable, and service-oriented mindset.

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods.

Preferred Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Wellness, Hospitality Management, or related field.

  • One (1) to three (3) years of management or supervisory experience in a fitness, spa, hospitality, or private club setting.

  • Experience assisting with staff scheduling, training, or program coordination.

  • Experience supporting departmental financial performance, including program growth or revenue generation.

  • Experience in a private club, resort, or hospitality environment preferred.

  • Reformer Pilates certification.

  • Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certification or similar golf-specific fitness credential.

  • Additional specialty certifications such as yoga, corrective exercise, senior fitness, or massage therapy are a plus.
