The Woman's Athletic Club of Chicago is a private athletic and social club for women located on the Magnificent Mile. We serve approximately 1,200 members and their families and offer fitness, spa, aquatics, social programming and dining. Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must always articulate a professional and polished demeanor, be a self-starter and have outstanding communication and initiative skills. This proven leader must be dedicated, creative and service-oriented with an eye for detail. Understanding the importance of staff communication and team culture. Responsible for enhancing dining services to increase the overall member experience. Supervise and lead the FOH team to meet club standards. Ensure high quality member service throughout all dining venues. Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. Proactively identify areas for improvement, anticipate operational needs and takes action without requiring constant direction. Drives service enhancements, solve problems efficiently, and contribute innovative ideas to improve member satisfaction, team performance, and operational success.

JOB DUTIES:

• Oversee FOH staff and daily FB operations, hiring, training, mentoring, and developing employees.

• Conduct all FOH evaluations.

• Develop and implement SOP’s and policies and procedures for FOH.

• Conduct pre- and post-meetings with staff to ensure understanding and expectations of quality of outcomes for every member experience whether for daily dining or events.

• Monitor scheduling daily to maximize efficiency.

• Responsible for FOH certification program.

• Fully manage beverage inventory and bar operations, including wine and cocktail menu creation and staff development to create an exceptional beverage program.

• Assure that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed.

• Purchase bar products/supplies and maintain inventory for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, mixers, expandable paper, and other supplies.

• Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and event planners to ensure proper communication and expectations are understood for daily execution.

• Greet members and guests and oversee service on a routine basis.

• Devise floor plans.

• Assist AGM with budget preparation and adheres to budgetary guidelines in management and operation of clubhouse.

• Serve as manager on duty daily. • Address member and guest complaints and keep AGM appraised of situations and corrective action taken.

• Maintain appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all food and beverage facilities.

• Work with AGM to develop new and innovative ways to train and enhance staff and beverage service.

• Attend weekly management meetings.

• Any other duties not listed but required by your manager.

Candidate Qualifications

Two to three years of food and beverage management experience in private clubs and high-end dining.

Brings a positive, team-oriented attitude and a proactive approach, taking initiative to support staff, enhance service, and resolve issues before they escalate.

Demonstrated experience scheduling, training, supervising and evaluating food and beverage staff across dining outlets and private events, with the ability to execute banquets and member programs.

Detail-oriented with experience reviewing dining menus for accuracy, seasonal relevance and operational readiness, and collaborating closely with the Food & Beverage Director and culinary team.

Intermediate to advanced wine proficiency.

Previous bar management preferred, experienced in creating drink menus and understanding beverage costs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office required and club technology/POS software preferred. Excellent customer service skills.

Fluent in written and spoken English; Spanish language skills a plus.

Ability to work a variety of shifts as needed (i.e., days, nights, weekends, and holidays).

Required city and state certifications needed Food handler, Allergen, and Alcohol or Bassett.
