Falmouth Yacht Club- Established in 1946 on the shores of Cape Cod in beautiful Falmouth, Massachusetts, the Falmouth Yacht Club proudly mixes its love of all things waterfront with meeting the social and recreational interests of the membership.

Since its inception by a small group of racing enthusiasts, the Falmouth Yacht Club has grown and evolved into a destination unto itself with its location nestled on scenic   Falmouth Harbor and Vineyard Sound. Recognized nationally  as one of the premier racing geographies, Falmouth Yacht Club still maintains its warm, friendly and casual atmosphere in its pristine New England setting

Club is open 6 days per week, 10 months per year.

Brief Job Description

Essential Duties

  • Oversees all dining room, bar and kitchen operations.
  • Monitors performance to ensure adherence to all service standards, productivity standards to ensure exceptional member satisfaction and overall experience.
  • Generates schedules for all areas of Food & Beverage operations.
  • Ensure all employees are in full uniform and are conducting themselves in a professional manner.
  • Monitor and control Food & Beverage inventories.
  • Maintain inventories of related Food & Beverage equipment.
  • Monitor and control labor costs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation levels to Health Department required ratings at all times.
  • Monitor and forecast Food & Beverage revenues and expenses to ensure company goals are met on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Implement new menu items that will increase member satisfaction and perception of value.
  • Implement policies and procedures for Food & Beverage and ensure enforcement.
  • Ensure the quality levels of Food & Beverage products and maintain quality standards in production, services, facilities and guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage the annual Food & Beverage budget.
  • Implement and monitor ordering and receiving program to ensure proper quantity and prices on all purchases.
  • Manages direct reports to include; Front of House Supervisor, Lead Bartender, Head Chef., who supervise more than 15 employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory  responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.               
  • Assists the General Manager with other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Candidate Qualifications

Work Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • 5+ years Food & Beverage Management experience within the private club industry preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and motivating skills including the ability to build strong relationships with members and staff, initiative, teambuilding, member service, planning and organization, creativity and innovation.
  • Skilled in marketing and merchandising procedures; working knowledge of industry standards; organizational and time management skills combined with a high level of initiative.
  • Good business and commercial acumen.
  • Stamina and the ability to work under stress, good at thinking quickly and sorting out problems on the spot, and the ability to stay calm in a crisis.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members and their guests and the general public.
  • Financial, budgeting and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, food hygiene (including HACCP) and food preparation.
  • Knowledge of proper housekeeping and maintenance protocols.

$65,000.00 to $79,999.00
