Brief Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

We are looking for a Food & Beverage Leader to manage our upscale dining outlet, Harry’s. Harry’s, named after Harry Guggenheim, is an adults-only premier steak and seafood restaurant with an extensive wine list, sophisticated cocktails and features a raw oyster bar. Open five-days a week, dinner only.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage the ‘Member Experience’.
  • A highly organized work style.
  • Oversee hiring and scheduling for the outlet.
  • Supervise, motivate, train and develop front-of-house staff (servers, bartenders, food runners and bussers) while maintaining a cohesive team.
  • Ability to direct performance of F&B team and follow up with corrections where needed.
  • Will enjoy and thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to create tasteful food and wine pairings.
  • Extensive knowledge of different wines and which regions produce each type.
  • Comfortable with constant interaction with staff and members in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to enforce and embody private club standards, policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, motivate, train and develop front-of-house staff (servers, bartenders, food runners and bussers) while maintaining a cohesive team.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to schedule within labor budgets, provide accurate inventories and help maintain Food & Beverage budget.
  • Analyze and resolve problems promptly while exercising good judgment and creative problem solving
  • Ensure that all team members receive proper training and perform ongoing staff training.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal customers, co-workers, and members.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Other requirements:

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours+, and/or walk continuously to perform essential job functions throughout shift, both indoors and outdoors, with varying weather conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Assist in monthly inventory.

Candidate Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum three (3) years food and beverage management experience at an upscale restaurant, resort, or private club
  3. Level 1 Sommelier Certification and working towards Master Sommelier.
  4. Minimum two (2) years’ operating a beverage program preferred.
  5. Must have prior server experience.
  6. Alcohol awareness certification is a plus.
  7. Prior experience in a private club setting is a plus.
  8. You must be of legal age to serve liquor according to state law.
  9. Must be flexible to any work shifts - days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may vary based on business needs.
