 The Recruiter plays a critical part in growing and maintaining our employee culture.  It is a fun but challenging role, and an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to enjoy the experience of serving in an internal talent acquisition position for one of the most prestigious companies in the Western Carolinas.  

 Recruiting Strategy  

  • Recommends staffing strategy plans to address full time and seasonal needs
  • Identifies solutions for staffing issues using unique approaches to each position
  • Administrator of applicant tracking system
  • Stays current on new recruitment technologies and trends
  • Works with Marketing to maintain and improve careers section of the Cliffs website and social media outlets

 Candidate Sourcing

  • Determines the best sources to find applicants including job advertisement jobs, colleges, trade schools, career fairs, social media, community associations, events, local businesses, etc. 
  • Develops relationships with local partners such as the sources listed above
  • Maintains Cliffs brand as an employer for all seven clubs and corporate
  • Assists managers with drafting attractive and creative job ads as needed
  • Attends career fairs and other candidate sourcing events and encourages participation from managers/key employees
  • Distributes flyers in the community and posts them in appropriate locations
  • Works to develop partnerships with clubs with winter seasons
  • Tracks and analyzes the source of all new hires to determine the effectiveness (cost and quality) of search strategies 
  • Creates and manages applicable internship/externship programs
  • Works with managers and other HR team members on international recruitment such as J1 and H2B visas programs
  • Serves as point of contact for external recruiters and staffing agencies as needed 
  • Ensures internal candidates are interviewed when applying 

 Selection

  • Screens resumes as requested from managers
  • Assists in pre-screening interviews as requested from managers
  • Prepares offer/rejection letters
  • Develops and maintains prescreening question sets for each position in the Applicant Tracking System
  • Develops and maintains database of general interview questions for all applicants and those for specific positions
  • Looks for opportunities to maximize candidates over all seven clubs

  Onboarding

  • Provides relocation assistance as needed 
  • Assists with employee housing and transportation programs
  • Assists international employees in getting established with social security numbers, bank accounts, etc)

 General

  • Represents the Cliffs at community events such as speaking events related to career searches and selection
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:  

  • Outgoing, confident, friendly, and professional demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills for internal customers
  • Experience using social media
  • Ability to relate to various types of people with different backgrounds, experiences, and lifestyles 
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at once in an organized fashion 
  • Proficient in office computer applications 
  • Have at least three years of full-time work experience
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
  • Experience in the private club industry is a plus

  Physical Requirements: 

  • Excellent eyesight for computer and phone work 
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift at least 15 lbs
  • Health that allows individual to work in fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
