Golf Facilities

• 18 Hole course, Par 72, designed by Donald Ross Riverton Country Club, with a rich history dating back from 1900, is an 18-hole private member-owned country club located in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. The Donald Ross designed course is undergoing a multi-year restoration to return it to the original design. In 1902, Riverton was the first New Jersey club to join the Golf Association of Philadelphia, for which it has hosted many of the region’s top amateur events. In recent years, Riverton Country Club has hosted several large events including a US Open Qualifier, Patterson Cup Qualifier, GAP Senior Amateur Championship, WGAP Boyle Cup, GAP Philadelphia Junior Boys Championship and this year will host the Philadelphia PGA Section Championship. Riverton Country Club is the premier family country club in southern New Jersey.

Tennis Facilities

• 4 outdoor lighted Hard Courts The Riverton Country Club offers an active tennis program for its members. There is a Tennis Hut and patio area for Members to relax and enjoy various events throughout the season. Our seasonal Tennis Professional offers individual and group lessons, drills, clinics and leagues as well as a Variety of junior activities. Pickleball has also become very popular at Riverton Country Club.

Swimming Facilities

• Outdoor Swimming activities center around the pool and a separate Kiddie Pool. A pool house which offers restrooms, locker rooms, playroom, snack bar and spacious patio/deck area with shuffleboard and basketball nets. Food and beverage service is offered poolside. Recent additions of a separate bar facility and large playset have been very well received by our members. The Riverton Wave Swim team is active in the Tri-County swim league.

Bowling Facilities • 4 Alleys Four alleys are located in the Half-Way House by the 13th Hole on the golf course. Members participate in Ladies, Mens, and Mixed leagues that Compete with other member clubs in the Philadelphia area. The Alleys are also available for member functions and parties. Limited food and beverage service is available.

All dining areas offer a combination of fine cuisine and good service. All menus change seasonally, therefore keeping a fresh look and ever-changing variety in food selections. Bar Service is available in all dining spaces.

Special Club Features

Riverton prides itself on being a club with something for everyone.  Members enjoy golf, tennis, swimming and bowling as well as dining, bridge, and a 30,000 square foot clubhouse.  From that clubhouse, it is about a twenty-minute drive to downtown Philadelphia and no more than 30 minutes to the Philadelphia sports stadiums and airport. 

Members enjoy a resort-style atmosphere featuring a large Clubhouse, with three dining rooms, mixed grill room, banquet facilities, men’s card room, golf shop, men’s and lady’s locker rooms, and a brand new outdoor patio overlooking course.  The well-groomed and recently rennovated grounds include driving range, practice area, swimming pool and picnic area, tennis courts, and bowling alleys.

Taking full advantage of its beautiful clubhouse and scenic grounds, the Riverton Country Club, a family friendly club, offers members and their children a variety of social activities throughout the year. From the casual patio parties and Kids Camps to cocktail parties that ring in the holidays and an annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza that averages almost one thousand attendees, the RCC social activities have wide appeal.

Although RCC is rich in history and tradition, it is also progressive and open to change as the economic and demographic scene dictates.  An active Board of Governors and Club Committees strategically plan for the future, while retaining some for the successful past.

Riverton Country Club is open 12 months per year with an abbreviated winter schedule.  Golf outings occur on Mondays when the club is closed to members.

The Club

Riverton Country Club (RCC) is a private club that offers a full range of athletic and social activities including golf, tennis, bowling, and swimming.  RCC was founded in 1900 when the leaders of Riverton Village decided to introduce golf to the bustling community.  In 1915, the Club decided to expand from 9 holes to 18 holes and engaged world-famous golf course architect Donald Ross to execute the design.  The new course opened in the late summer of 1917.

In 2000, RCC celebrated its 100th anniversary.  In 2017, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Donald Ross Golf Course.  In the latter half of the 20th Century, Riverton had some of the best female players in this area, and for a few years, one of the five best in the world – Dorothy Porter.

 In 2018, the club completed Phase I of the Donald Ross restoration of the golf course.  The balance of the restoration is slated to be executed during the winter/spring of 2021/2022.

The Position

The Food and Beverage Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house services for the club.  Hire, train and supervise subordinates and ensure front of the house and back of the house are providing excellent and consistent service to our members and guests.


Job Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all aspects and areas of the Food and Beverage department including a la carte, fine and casual dining, banquet function, multiple bar locations, and our poolside facility.
  2. Responsible for maintaining and overseeing the day-to-day F&B procedures such as side work, cover counts, server check-outs, and opening and closing duties.
  3. Continuously circulate throughout service to ensure members’ expectations are met. Table touches each table throughout service.
  4. Works with Food and Beverage Director to continuously ensure employees are providing outstanding and consistent service.
  5. Fill in as an extra set of hands for service staff. Offer to drop drinks, start tables off, etc. Make sure Riverton’s steps of service are being met and members are serviced in a timely fashion.
  6. Directly works with Food and Beverage Director and Catering Director to complete day-to-day operations.
  7. Attend and host daily pre-shift meetings. Review specials with the team, and discuss upcoming events and any event that may be happening throughout the club. Address any service reminders that you have noticed need improvements, for example, clearing to dessert. Check for nametags to be on, wine openers to be in apron, and shirts to be tucked in.
  8. Oversee the setup and breakdown of events. Direct employees on what is needed to make each event successful and ensure setup is complete prior to the start.
  9. Communicate nightly via e-mail to Food and Beverage Director regarding any information regarding the shift, staffing, and important information needed to operate the next day. 
  10. Offers input if requested from Bartenders regarding drink specials, cocktail menus, and any other bar-related changes.

Compensation
Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The club offers a bonus and benefit package

Candidate Qualifications

The Person
The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering excellent food and beverage service. The candidate will have excellent written and verbal skills and will be adept at designing clear service standards, policies, and procedures for the Club. The ideal candidate will have impeccable attention to detail and will have a proven track record of 3 or more years in front-of-house service supervision, preferably in a private member-owned club or high-end hospitality environment.  Available to work full-time, including evening and weekend hours.  Strong computer skills are a must, Point of Sale experience and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.  Experience in a Private Country Club and knowledge of Members First and Jonas Software are pluses. 

Educational Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a four-year college degree or high school degree and significant related work experience.
