Special Club Features

Birchwood Country Club is a small family friendly private club on the Westport-Norwalk line. The club boasts a nine hole golf course, recently listed in the Top Ten of Nine Hole Golf Couses by Golf World Magazine. The club operates ten and one half months per year. The dining room is open six days and four nights in the high season and five days and two nights during the low season.

Club is open 6 days per week, 11 months per year.

Brief Job Description

We are looking for an individual to assist with event promotion, set up, execution and billing. They will ensure that all linens, liquor, equipment and staff are secured for each event. They will participate in and manage set up of events at various sites around the club and must be able to lift and move tables, delegate to others and ensure timelines are met without impacting the member experience. They will ensure that promotional material is complete and sent out to the membership in a timely manner and that all waitlists and reservations are managed to ensure maximum attendance at all functions. They will liase with kitchen to ensure all food is set on time and refreshed in a timely fashion. This person will be available during the club's down time to contribute to the food and beverage department as needed and at the discretion of the clubhouse manager.

Candidate Qualifications

This candidate must:

Be able to adhere to timelines and responsibilities with minimal oversight
Take ownership of all tasks and details to ensure a successful event
Be detail oriented from preliminary work to set up to execution of event to billing
Be able to lift, bend, stoop and be physically active either standing or moving the majority of their day
Must understand their part in a team and act with professionalism and respect at all times
Be a problem solver and able to think on their feet
Run an event as the sole attendant or manage a team of 25 with the same outcome
Work most of their hours on the weekends but be available throughout the week as neede and potentially on call during the summer months
