The home has two floors and eight individual beds. With two separate living spaces you can stay upstairs, downstairs, or reserve the entire house. Maybe it’s the two fireplaces, the private putting green, or the luxury interior; one thing is for sure, you will want to come back again and again…

Brief Job Description

Windsong Farm Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf course located 30 miles West of the Twin Cities. We are searching for a F&B Intern.  As a Food & Beverage intern you would be rotating and training in the different jobs within the F&B Operations (Greeter, Food Runner/Server Assistant, Bartender, Comfort Station attendee, Server, Expeditor, Supervisor) along with other aspects of the Golf Club. The position will be involved with the daily Food and Beverage operations, member events, private events, membership, golf, grounds and administrative.  With this internship, you will have the opportunity to attend staff management meetings, assist in leading daily standups, attend, and work with events, and be exposed to management-level responsibilities.  Much of your exposure will greatly depend on your initiative, attitude and overall delivery of service. Food & Beverage Internship positions are available during the spring, summer and fall time. 

Job Tasks/Duties

Front of the House/Kitchen/Comfort Stations:

  • Assist in creating a high level of service in the Clubhouse & Comfort Stations. 
  • Help plan and approve external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities for the dining room, comfort stations and special club events.
  • Assist with the training of supervisors, servers, comfort station attendees and bartenders.
  • Coordinate with the Head Chef on menu items, pricing, and menu designs for dining room & special events. 
  • Will be highly visible in dining rooms to members and staff.  May help serve or bartend. 
  • Assist in maintaining point of sale system, inventory controls and beverage operations.

Special Events:

  • Will help the Event Coordinator to arrange special events, banquets, luncheons, meetings, weddings, dances, and other social events with members and/or guests.
  • In conjunction with the events Coordinator will work on promotions, pricing, planning, coordinating, and supervising the execution of all special parties, dinners, and event functions.
  • Ensure that members and guests events details and special requests are adhered to and that functions run smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.
  • Inspect finished event arrangements; and be present to greet and serve the guests.
  • Responsible for hands-on service work when needed.
  • Assist in decorating the Clubhouse and other buildings for the different seasons, holidays, and special events. 

Customer Service:

  • Greet and get to know the members to provide the best possible guest service.
  • Create and maintain procedures for an excellent standard of service.
  • Willingness to step in and function in any position within the department.

Staff:

  • Assist in recruitment, training, and supervision of clubhouse staff.
  • Ensure a safe and harassment free working environment for all employees. 
  • Ensure your staff follows all Club’s policies & procedures and cultivates an inclusive, diverse & professional behavior.
  • Inspire and promote high employee engagement.
  • Develop and mentor Clubhouse employees.

Murphy House:

  • Coordinate any food and beverage special requests for Murphy House guests.

Candidate Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Active student pursuing an undergraduate degree in hospitality management, travel management, corporate event planning, business management, or a related field.
  • Students with a 3.0 or greater GPA will be given priority consideration.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
