Corolla Light Resort is the 2019's North Carolina Resort of the year and is an ocean to sound side resort with 452 homes nestled on 250 acres in Corolla on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. We offer a variety of amenities for our guests including seven indoor and outdoor swimming pools, basketball courts, a sand volleyball court, playgrounds, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a nature trail, fishing ponds, an oceanfront restaurant, and a fitness complex as well as many others. Along with the unmatched amenities offered at Corolla Light Resort, activities for guests of all ages including sports tournaments, crabbing, tie-dye, family movie night, a homerun derby, and the Big Daddy Splash – an adult cannonball competition, are a highlight for all ages! Corolla Light Resort offers an activity internship to six qualified students every summer.

Job Description

The position is primarily responsible for the daily operation and supervision of:

  • The Richard A. Brindley Sports Center and numerous outdoor recreational and fitness amenities and activities.
  • A comprehensive and extensive program of seasonal recreational activities, special events, periodic meetings and conferences.
  • A seasonal (summer) recreation/ hospitality internship program.
  • An extensive, year-round indoor/ outdoor tennis and racquet sports program.
  • Updating and maintaining social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and corollalightresort.com.
  • Selecting and managing the seasonal interns.
  • Planning owner only social events throughout the year.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidate must possess the following qualities:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Self-motivated
  • Very Organized
  • Desire to work in an environment of continual improvement
  • Community oriented
  • Excellent people skills
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in the hospitality or event planning industry.

Educational Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A degree from an accredited college or university in Hospitality, Recreation, Tourism or similar field of study.
