Brief Job Description
Watchung Valley Golf Club is looking for their next Clubhouse Manager who enjoys a good work-life balance in the hospitality industry. Owned by the same family since the 1940s, Watchung Valley is nestled in the rolling hills of northern NJ and has a storied history. The Seth Raynor designed championship golf course has made significant improvements to both its golf course and dining areas in recent years. We're looking for the next manager to help elevate the members' & guests' cubhouse experience. Good moral and a healthy work/life balance are essential to our entire team. We boast a more modern progressive workplace environment suitable to the 2022 lifestyle.
The successful candidate will work closely with the COO & Assistant General Manager. Responsible for all aspects of the clubhouse in the absence of the Assistant GM and perform specific tasks as requested by the COO. Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of the entire clubhouse (front & back of the house). Ensure timeliness of food service, supervise and train dining room staff, and manage within budgetary restraints. Help develop and implement programs to maximize revenues. Work closely with the Executive Chef in developing a platinum club dining experience for both members and guests. Assist the Chief Membership Officer in booking banquets.
Candidate Qualifications
- Three years of dining room supervisory experience in private club
- Member of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) and other professional associations preferred
- Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and outdoor conditions
- Independent mobility throughout the clubhouse
- Required to stand for long periods of time
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Four-year Bachelor Degree in hospitality is preferred
- Working towards CCM designation with the CMAA preferred, but not required
