Position: Instructor (nine-month, full time, professional-track faculty)

The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Instructor rank.

Candidate Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
∗ a master’s degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management, or alternatively in another closely related field with a concentration in one of the teaching areas listed below [minimum of 18 graduate semester hours]
∗ at least 2 years of hospitality or tourism operations work experience
∗ primary teaching experience in at least two of the following: club management, golf tourism, event management, hospitality management, tourism management
∗ secondary teaching interests in one or more of the following: festival management, foodservice management
∗ a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality classroom instruction

Position Responsibilities:
∗ teach courses in the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management
∗ provide mentoring and guidance to students in the major
∗ collaborate with other departmental faculty in the general mission of the unit
∗ serve on Department, College, or University committees as needed

Initial review of applicants will commence December 7th, 2022, and continue until the position is filled. The appointment start date will be August 15, 2023, contingent on funding. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
