Special Club Features

Somerset Hills Country Club is a historic and traditional club with a rich history dating back more than 100 years.  The club was formed in 1899 for social and recreational purposes with its founders being primarily New York City residents.  

The Club is located in Bernardsville, New Jersey, a borough of Somerset County with easy access to New York City and the many activities the region offers.  In 2000, Bernardsville had the 10th highest per capita income in the state.  In 2009, part of the borough was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Olcott Avenue Historic District. 

Designed by A.W. Tillinghast and is consistently rated one of the Top 100 courses in the country. For one hundred years, playing tennis on the grass courts at Somerset Hills has been a long standing tradition for the members and their families. While Somerset Hills has hosted several national and international events, it has always remained a Club for members and their families. 

As a Club known for its tradition rich environment and membership culture, it hopes to pass on to future generations, the tradition of simple elegance that is Somerset Hills Country Club.

Brief Job Description

The Food & Beverage Intern will work with Club Management to oversee the clubhouse operation. The position is designed to gain real world, hands-on experience to continue to develop the skill set, responsibilities and judgement of a future Operations Manager. In this role you will build upon the leadership, management and interpersonal skills that are so pivotal in the progression of your career.

Candidate Qualifications

Ideal candidates will be pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Private Club Management or related fields.  Candidates should possess a positive attitude, a polished appearance and exceptional communication skills.  Must maintain a high sense of urgency in the service of our members, able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail.  Interns want to demonstrate a willingness to learn with the ability to take and follow through with direction.  Candidates should possess strong communication skills and have a true passion for hospitality and the private club industry

Educational Requirements

Candidates should be actively pursuing a degree in hospitality management
