Job Title

Common Area Landscaping Maintenance Manager

Brief Job Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily and preventative maintenance on property including common areas, ground surrounding amenities, erosion/drainage control, weed control, etc. This position hires, trains and manages the maintenance personnel of this department and interacts with various HOA departments regarding exterior landscaping aesthetics of the community. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • 40% - Supervise common area staff, inspect all landscaping, common areas and property to ensure it meets HOA standards.
  • 30% - Schedule work assignments daily for each staff member, monitor work performed and following up with staff on current common area maintenance.
  • 10% - Budget Planning.
  • 10% -    Working with contractors, outside service companies and supply vendors to ensure maximum productivity, to include monitor of pricing, billing and quality of service.  
  • 10% - Oversees weed   and drainage control. Covering several   hundred acres this position requires daily review to property to ensure weeds   are eliminated, spraying weeds and removed. Drainage control also requires monitoring all common areas with   community for proper water drainage where gates are located, hills and silt   off hills are properly maintained. The   percentage of time spent on this area fluctuates depending on the season.

Shift/Staff control, establish staff workload and schedule, assign duties, planning annual law over seeding, flower replacement and drainage ditch cleaning. 

Unit and Facilities vegetation control/grooming, weeding control, pre-emergence application and plant fertilization.

Requirements

  •  5 years of previous landscape and common area maintenance experience. 
  • Required Education / Certification: Chemical applicator license for weed control, valid AZ driver's license.
  • Preferred Certification:  Qualifying party license.
  • Basic Horticulture Knowledge
  • Maintenance and repair on Irrigation systems
  • Drainage and erosion control
  • Basic landscape equipment operation
  • Basic office and computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
