A member's private retreat area is the mezzanine library, a perfect place to relax with a book, have a private meeting with colleagues, or explore the world-class, first addition documents on display by the Remnant Trust. An adjacent recently renovated wine vault, and tasting room complements this tranquil environment. A planned rooftop venue will quickly become the best after-hours spot in Indy.

Brief Job Description

We are looking for a talented aspiring club professional to join our team. The Columbia Club is Located on the historic Monument Circle in Downtown Indianapolis. The Club has been a prominent pilar in the community since 1889.  In 1888, a contingent of Indianapolis' most distinguished residents united their efforts to help elect Benjamin Harrison as the nation's 23rd president, the only Hoosier to occupy the White House. In 2023, the Columbia Clubs Platinum Clubs of America ranking is 32 on the list of the top 50, making it one of the top-ranked city clubs in the nation and a premier club in the Midwest. In 2023, the Club celebrated its 134th anniversary. The current clubhouse is the Club's third home, a beautiful ten-story architectural showpiece located on Monument Circle. Members enjoy the Club's 130,000 square feet of historic clubhouse space that includes a variety of meeting and event rooms (10), more than 65 en-suite guest rooms, two restaurants, Columbia Eats (grab and go), multiple ball rooms(Crystal Terrace seats 200), Grand Ball Room,(seats 300), seasonal outdoor patio and our roof top restaurant that is in the architectural planning stages currently.  a recently renovated 24-hour Health & Wellness Center with well-appointed locker rooms is also a very active part of the club.

The Assistant Manager in Training program is designed to give a full-cycle view of how our entire club operates. Throughout each week, there will be highlighted training in different positions within the club. With this program the assistant manager will have varied opportunities to attend management level staff meetings, assist in leading, and attending weekly staff development activities. At the end of the training program the Assistant Manager in Training will have identified their development project that is going to be implemented into the club’s operation.

As an assistant Manager in training, you will experience quality training and high-level experiences while obtaining skills and knowledge from a top tier private club. You will be part of an amazing team and will have begun to build a solid foundation, that will help you throughout your career. 

Candidate Qualifications

College graduate of a hospitality program prefered but not required.

-Student or active member of the CMAA who aspires tobecome a private club leader prefered.

This is a full time, year round opportunity. This is an onsite position.
