Special Club Features

Sky Valley is situated in the mountains of North Georgia on the North Carolina border. At 3500' it is Georgia's highest and coolest city.  Sky Valley Country Club is nestled in a lush valley surrounded by mountain vistas, amidst beautiful water features, quaint bridges, historic landmarks and the incredible natural beauty that our Blue Ridge Mountains flora perfectly displays.

Visitors are drawn to the area for its natural beauty and the many outdoor activities including golf, whitewater rafting, and hiking. The area hosts many shopping and dining opportunities. Sky Valley is located 20 minutes from the towns of Highlands, NC to the northeast and Clayton, GA. to the south.

Sky Valley enjoys an 89.4 cost of living index making it the most affordable resort community in the area.

Since 2013, Sky Valley Country Club has been member-owned. To ensure its stability, several homeowners decided to invest in the property naming it the Sky Valley Country Club. Besides the course, their investment included the new cart barn, the pavilion and the unfinished clubhouse. The Club opened on June 1, 2013 and, since that time, its membership has grown. The now completed clubhouse provides a wonderful place for neighbors to gather for excellent cuisine and professional service, and a beautiful setting.

The Sky Valley golf course opened in the mid 70’s. Bill Watts, course architect, capitalized his design using the natural features in the valley which were present long before a golf course was envisioned. With the elevation of this course the highest in Georgia, it is significantly cooler than courses elsewhere in the state.

In 2007, a major renovation and redesign was completed when noted course designer, Bill Bergin, transformed Sky Valley into a championship course. The first thing visitors notice is the lush texture of the fairways and greens of the current course. Bergin was able to utilize previously unused parcels of land to lengthen the course by 500 yards. The current length is over 6,900 yards which allows for each hole to have 7 sets of tees providing distances enjoyable by every level of player.

Club is open 6 days per week, 12 months per year.
