Catering Manager

Brief Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop sales leads, identify opportunities to generate interest, and meet with prospects.
  • As a champion of innovation and continuous improvement, works with management team to propose ideas to grow sales and increase excellence in event planning and execution.
  • Coordinate banquets and events from conception to completion. Proactively handles issues and troubleshoots emerging issues for all events. Inspects finished arrangements prior to the start of each event and ensures all the clients’ needs are met.
  • Manages catering budget, reviews financial reports.
  • Creates catering menus and pricing with F&B team.
  • Oversees outside catering contracts and maintains positive relations with outside vendors (linen, floral, décor, etc.).

Candidate Qualifications

  1. Should have at least 4 years’ experience in sales and catering, preferably in a Club setting, with a proven record of sales growth and client satisfaction.  Should possess strong working knowledge of F&B with the ability to speak confidently in menu planning and selection.
  2. Must have excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and deadlines. Strong organization and planning faculties with exceptional attention to detail. Must be self-motivated.
  3. Superior communication skills, both in speaking and writing.
  4. Should possess a high energy, creative, outgoing, and positive personality. Must have a professional demeanor, a gracious attitude and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments, team members, current and prospective members, and business partners. An evident passion for high-level customer service and hospitality is required.
  5. A proven collaborator and diplomatic team player. Excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding networking abilities.
  6. Must be proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
