Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a town named “Best Town Ever” by Outdoor magazine, Black Creek Club is a family-owned, private club that serves as the social and recreational hub of the still-growing community of Black Creek. The Club sits in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains, the closest of which is currently under construction as the newest addition to the development.
Opened in September 2000, the Club is ranked among the Top 5 private Clubs in Tennessee by Golfweek magazine, and it’s the only residential course in Tennessee to be ranked in the Top 100 in the U.S. in addition to the highly acclaimed golf course, the facilities include tennis and pickleball, a fitness center, a resort style two level pool, a comfortable bar and lounge, and dining for up to 100 members, both indoors, on extensive patios, and by the pool. The menu is rotated seasonally. The Club also offers poolside food and beverage service during the summer months. The Club keeps a broad selection of wines from many regions. The Clubhouse has a casual bar, also in the clubhouse, that offers a wide selection of premium liquors, craft beer, domestic and imported beers, as well as draft beer.

Job Description

Black Creek Club is looking for an experienced, qualified Executive Chef to lead the kitchen’s daily food preparation & execution activities. The Executive Chef is responsible for ensuring that all food is consistently outstanding – from traditional Club favorites to innovative offerings and special events throughout all dining venues. The Executive Chef understands that quality and consistency in producing and delivering all menu items, from a sandwich to a five-course meal, is essential to an exceptional member’s experience.

Candidate Qualifications

Degree in Culinary Science or equivalent in years of experience.
A minimum of 5 years of verifiable, kitchen leadership and management experience in an active, private, member-focused club or a premiere hospitality environment.
Exceptional leadership, mentorship, & supervision skills – ability to build, grow and retain staff creating an environment and culture where good people want to be.
Outstanding member relations & interpersonal skills.
Ability to delegate responsibilities and monitor progress for successful outcomes.
Outstanding communication skills.
Able to direct all a la carte, catering, and banquets services.
Remains current with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
Strong understanding of industry-relevant computer programs.
Credentials in health and safety training.
Able to work evenings, weekends, & holidays.
