The course, exclusively designed by Henry Fownes, has a rich history dating back 121 years to its opening in 1903. Over the course of a year, Henry Fownes, assisted by a crew of 150 men and nearly two dozen mule teams, meticulously constructed Oakmont on former farmland, creating an ideal setting for a links-style course. Situated in the picturesque Allegheny River Valley, Oakmont stands out for its distinctive features – it boasts minimal water hazards and, since 2007, has been virtually tree-free. With a formidable USGA course rating of 77.5[2] and an impressive array of 175 bunkers, Oakmont is widely acknowledged within the golf community as one of the most challenging courses in the United States.

As an intern, you'll gain invaluable experience overseeing scheduling, inventory, employee training and retention, while also orchestrating bi-weekly "Family Fun Days" and crafting delightful food & beverage offerings for weekly swim meets. Concluding the internship, you'll emerge well-versed in supervisory roles, food and beverage operations, and the intricacies of event planning and execution. Candidate Qualifications

Candidate Minimum Qualifications Include:

• A passion for Hospitality

• Capability to stand for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and reach; Capability to perform continuous repetitive motions.

• Ability to frequently lift objects up to 25 lbs.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, aligning with the nature of Oakmont Country Club's demands.

• Exceptional communication skills to ensure effective coordination in a dynamic work environment.

• Friendly and cooperative demeanor to engage seamlessly with Members, Guests, and Staff.

Educational Requirements

Candidate Minimum Educational Qualifications include:

- Enrollment in a four-year Hospitality Management Program.

- RAMP Certification (Required - 30 Days after Start Date)

- Previous Food & Beverage experience is a plus.

- Enrollment & Engagement in local CMAA Professional or Student Chapter preferred.
