Special Club Features

The Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte is considered one of the City’s prestigious addresses and includes an area of fine homes and tree-lined streets.  Myers Park Country Club has been an integral part of the Charlotte community for that entire time, and most members live within a very short distance of the Club.

The Club is open for dining throughout the year (some operating seasonally or weather permitting), with a wide variety of options available to members and their guests. The multiple dining options include the upscale Byron Nelson Dining Room, Adults-only Donald Ross Bar, Tavern 21, Oakwood Cafe family dining, Men’s Lounge, and adjoining outside dining venues. The Club hosts a number of large and more personalized events, special occasions, and activities as part of its over $4.0M food and beverage operation.  The Club is well known for its culinary operation, and an array of amenities, including highly regarded golf, tennis, fitness, and pool operations. All, of which, are critical to the overall experience and satisfaction of the membership.

Myers Park Country Club is located in the heart of Charlotte, North Carolina and is one of the premier clubs in the city. The club has received the honors of being a premier Club both in America and abroad. Myers Park Country Club serves over 1180 families with the majority living less than two miles from the Club. The clubhouse is approximately 68,000 square feet and has recently completed a $28 million renovation.

Manager-in-Training: Events-Focused

Brief Job Description

Have you ever attended an event and wondered what it takes to make the magic happen? MPCC is proud to offer a robust Manager in Training program to college graduates looking for the training and guidance necessary to progress in the industry of event planning.  This 12-month program provides the opportunity to learn the private club operation with a focus in event planning and management. If you’d like a look behind the curtain in the world of events and member activities, come check us out!

Job Training Includes:

  • Rotate through all departments of the club to gain a global understanding of the operation.
  • Train in pool service and food & beverage department.
  • Work directly with events department to support a full calendar of member and private events including all pool holidays, Carnival, Fall Festival, Gingerbread Decorating, Holiday Open House, Supper with Santa, Family New Years Eve, and more.
  • Supervise events alongside banquet managers: verify rooms are ready, greeting, and supervising the team.
  • Assist with planning of private events including weddings, baby and bridal showers, cocktail and dinner parties, celebrations, and more.
  • Plan and execute a member event with the support of the events team.
  • Utilize Jonas Encore input and update Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Participate in learning opportunities, as provided - including club tours, CMAA education, reading assignments, projects, and more.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Professional, hardworking, highly motivated
  • Curious, flexible, willing to learn and problem solve
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Prior hospitality or food & beverage experience preferred.
  • Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Position will require long periods of standing and walking. The employee should be able to lift, move, and/or carry up to 15 pounds, as well as carry out various functions that may require pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching.

Educational Requirements

Recent graduate of hospitality program preferable
