Club Manager

Brief Job Description

The Club Manager will oversee the house, social, pool and member operations of Geneva Golf & Country Club, ensuring that all aspects of the clubhouse run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing house staff, maintaining clubhouse facilities, planning and executing clubhouse events, and delivering exceptional member experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing high-quality service. The Club Manager will work collaboratively with the golf and grounds management, and report to the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities: 

•    Operational Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the club, including food and beverage services and recreational facilities.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and member satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage club budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and expenditures are controlled.

•    Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise club staff, including service personnel and administrative staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to staff.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with the golf and grounds management; note: this role does not include management of the golf course including grounds and golf events.

•    Member Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with club members, addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Plan and coordinate member events, social activities, and special programs. I
  • mplement strategies to enhance member satisfaction, retention and attraction of new members.

•    Facility Management

  • Ensure that club facilities are well-maintained, clean, and in good repair.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules for the clubhouse, dining areas, pool and other facilities.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and upgrades.

•    Event Planning

  • Organize and manage club events, including social gatherings and private functions.
  • Work with members to customize event plans and ensure successful execution.
  • Oversee event budgets and coordinate with vendors for catering, decorations, and entertainment.

•    Marketing and Promotion

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the club and attract new members.
  • Manage the club’s online presence and social media accounts.
  • Create promotional materials and coordinate with external partners as needed.

•    Working Conditions

  • This role requires flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical demands include the ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and navigate various areas of the club.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office club management software (Club Essentials)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Educational Requirements

•    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role, preferably in a country club or similar hospitality setting.
  • Experience in budget management, staff supervision, and event planning.
