Established in 1932, the Lewes Yacht Club (LYC) is a private yacht club located in Lewes, Delaware. Lewes, a historic town founded in 1631, is situated at the meeting point of the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Henlopen. The preserved land of Cape Henlopen State Park features miles of pristine beaches, nature trails, and bird sanctuaries. Lewes proudly claims to be "The first town in the first state." LYC has recently completed a $7.5 million expansion and enhancement project. The club currently has a waitlist of over 500 members, as memberships are in high demand. LYC offers an outstanding marina, upgraded pool area, and exceptional sailing opportunities on the Delaware Bay, with stunning sunset views in the Mid-Atlantic. The club was established to promote water sports, boating, casual sailing, and racing competitions. It is steeped in history and tradition but maintains a casual and relaxed atmosphere.
