Special Club Features
The Venice Golf and Country Club is a private gated country club located in Sarasota County in southwest Florida. The Club was formed in 1991 and has been member owned since 1999. Venice Golf and Country Club offers a wonderfully manicured championship 18-hole golf course, a full golf range, short game practice area, putting green and chipping green. 4 outdoor Har Tru tennis / pickleball courts, a Junior Olympic pool, baby-pool, 11-person spa, bocce courts and several dining options. Our tennis program is outstanding and very competitive in the local leagues. Socially, the club is extremely active with a robust tournament schedule, entertainment, specialty dining event, outstanding large wine club, Venice U educational enrichment programming and many other Clubs within the Club. This Club is the social hub of the community.
The members and the staff have a special bond that promotes the Club as a family. The Club is recognized as a “Best Workplaces” in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Food & Beverage Director
Brief Job Description
The Food & Beverage Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the club's dining operations. Primary focus is on delivering "Celebrity Service" as the private club member experience. Director works in unison with the Executive Chef while overseeing the entire front of house operation and service team. Director will "respectfully" coach and lead a talented team of service professionals. Develop and implement plans for in-house training, service standards, and consistently upgrade service delivery. Work diligently at being visible and the "face" of the Club's dining rooms and food & beverage operation. Attend all house committee meetings working closely to encorporate member desires. Direct and lead a very active member wine association within the club.
Candidate Qualifications
- A minimum of five (5) years experience as a Food & Beverage Director, Dining Room Manager, Assistant Clubhouse Manager, and / or restaurant manager.
- A team builder (coach and mentor) who leads by example.
- A verifiable record of leading a food & beverage team in a private club environment or high end restaurant facility.
- Strong wine knowledge is important.
- Strong finacial accumen understanding food & beverage accounting principles.
- An unquestionable track record of being detail oriented when it comes to training a team to deliver memorable dining experiences.
- Professionalism at all times who demands the same from their staff.
- Fully comfortable in engaging the membership on a daly and nightly basis.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
Educational Requirements
- Four year college degree or equivalent certification (hospitality degree preferred).
- CMAA member preferred but not required.
