Clubhouse Manager
Brief Job Description
The Clubhouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily services within the Clubhouse, including dining, kitchen operations, events, banquets, front office activities, and other non-golf-related functions. The primary objective is to consistently exceed the expectations of club members and their guests while fostering a cohesive environment across all divisions of Apple Creek Golf Club Clubhouse operations. Responsibilities include budget planning and implementation, hiring, training, and supervising dining and event staff.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Develop and monitor an operating budget for each revenue outlet, taking corrective actions as necessary to achieve budget goals.
- Ensure the consistent application of standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control.
- Enhance food service quality and overall ambiance of dining experiences for members.
- Work with Marketing Director on internal marketing promotions for the food and beverage department.
- Participate in Long Range Planning, Admissions, and Finance meetings as needed.
- Manage long-term staffing needs for the department.
- Implement effective orientation and training programs for new staff and professional development for existing staff.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, energy management, and preventive maintenance standards.
- Assist in planning and executing procedures for special club events and banquets.
- Regularly greet guests and supervise service operations.
- Address member and guest complaints, working alonside the General Manager on corrective actions taken.
- Innovate new strategies to stimulate member engagement and participation in Club events.
- Maintain the appearance, upkeep, and cleanliness of food and beverage equipment and facilities.
- Approve all product invoices prior to submission to accounting.
- Maintain records of special events, house counts, food covers, and daily business volumes.
- Collaborate with other department heads on special projects assigned by the General Manager.
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in upscale environments, preferably in private clubs.
Key qualifications include:
- Excellent communication and computer skills for staff and member interaction.
- Problem-solving ability and adaptability to change.
- Physical capabilities to sit, stand, and lift 20-50 pounds.
Skills Required:
- Language: Proficient in reading and writing safety rules, reports, and correspondence.
- Computer: Knowledge of Outlook, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Mathematics: Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret data.
- Reasoning: Apply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems.
Additional Requirements:
Educational Requirements
High school diploma required. Four-year college degree in hospitality or business is preferred. Additionally, candidates should have 3-5 years of experience managing club dining, restaurants, and/or a high-volume/high-service food and beverage operations.
