Mountain Brook Club is a private, member-owned club.  The Club sits on one hundred and eighty rolling acres in the southern portion of Shades Mountain, watered by a winding brook, and studded with natural hazards which were selected in 1929 by the organizational committee of the Mountain Brook County Club as the setting for the clubhouse and golf course which now constitutes the properties of the Club.  The clubhouse was built and opened for its members in 1929.  The vision was to be a serviceable club, which combines the convenience and service of an up-to-date club with the informality and charm of a country residence. Perhaps the most famous part of our reputation is the social activities, including excellent food and beverages for the member’s enjoyment.  Entertaining at the Club is a way of life for our members.

Beverage Manager

Job Description

Primary role of the beverage manager is the execution of the a beverage sales and bar management. This role will supervise service personnel to assure member and guest satisfaction through proper beverage service and presentation. In addition to these primary responsibilities, this position will provide additional management to all areas of the Food and Beverage Department.

  1. All beverages including N/A beverage inventory.
  2. All beverage ordering, purchasing, stocking, and maintaining.
  3. Staff training of select beverage knowledge.
  4. Wine Dinners with our Member
  5. Working closely with our Exec Chef
  6. Closing the dining spaces from time to time
  7. The beverage manager will be an active participant in the dining rooms on a nightly basis engaging with our members, helping to hand sell wine and educate them.
  8. Writing and maintaining our wine list with up-to-date vintages and correct pricing
  9. Curating a cocktail list and spirits program
  10. Training our bartenders on steps of service, mixology, and recipe management
  11. Oversee and manage the pool pavilion beverage program to include frozen drinks and “Wine-Down Wednesday”.
  12. Work closely with our Events team to ensure banquet wine/beverage sales are trending up and our members are engaged and happy.

Candidate Qualifications

Qualifications: Candidate qualifications

  • 2-5 years or previous events management with a preference of private clubs
  • Highly organized and with a strong record of record keeping
  • Ability to interact and engage with the membership to ensure proper execution of members expected experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office as well of POS (Jonas)
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and able solve issues quickly and correctly
  • Enthusiastic and high energy
