Unique Club/Facility Details

Founded in 1898 the St. Joseph Country Club was the center of the St. Joseph community. Over the years the club prospered; anyone who was anyone belonged to the Club. However, in the last decades the club began to struggle. In 2017, the club leaders sold the club to a fitness company and unfortunately, the decline continued. In normal mis-guided fashion, costs were cut, services were limited, and membership categories were expanded at reduced rates. The Tillinghast golf course drastically declined in quality and membership followed.

In 2020 the club was purchased by a local businessperson who began the rebuilding. A superintendent was hired to rectify the course and an immediate infusion of $2.6M was made for new equipment and operational needs. Next a chef was hired and the kitchen was completely renovated to feature a state of the art “suite”. Millions of dollars more were invested in the club with the sole purpose of fulfilling the vision, “St. Joseph Country Club will be a source of pride for its members and a cornerstone of the community”.

You’ve heard many opportunities being “truly unique” and this one actually is. The owner has made great strides in creating a team that has moved the club brand in a very positive direction. We are now looking for a club manager to help us continue our journey.

The Club is open six days per week, 12 months per year; however, closed for two weeks during Christmas and New Years.
