Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Board of Directors, the Director of Membership and Marketing will be responsible for designing and executing strategic initiatives that attract prospective members, increase member satisfaction, and strengthen the Gaston Country Club brand. This role blends creativity with analytics, requiring an individual who can navigate membership sales, events, and marketing campaigns with ease. The ideal candidate will be personable, self-motivated, detail-oriented with superb written and verbal communication skills.

Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in membership sales, marketing, or related roles; hospitality or club industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Adobe.
- Prior use of club management software systems is helpful. (The Club uses Northstar).
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical ability with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Membership Growth & Retention
- Develop, implement, and evaluate membership recruitment strategies, including prospect outreach campaigns and referral programs.
- Work closely with department heads to ensure seamless orientation of new members and ongoing engagement for existing members.
- Lead the Membership Committee.
- Maintain accurate membership records, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for retention and growth.
- Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns (digital, print, and social) to promote Gaston Country Club’s events, amenities, and membership benefits.
- Collaborate with external agencies and vendors (e.g., printers, graphic designers, photographers) to produce compelling marketing materials.
- Oversee and maintain Gaston Country Club's digital presence, including the Club’s website, social media, and email marketing initiatives.
- Maintain professional relationships with other club professionals and represent the club in its relationships with external constituencies.
- Member Communications & Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for member-related marketing and communications, ensuring timely and informative content distribution.
- Provide a visible presence and be assessable to the membership to ensure member satisfaction.
- Plan and coordinate member events and programming in partnership with relevant committees and department leads.
- Conduct regular surveys and feedback sessions to measure member satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
- Reporting
- Track, analyze, and present monthly performance metrics to the General Manager.
- Provide recommendations based on data-driven insights to refine strategies and meet organizational goals.
- Organize and update the Clubs historical records.
