Facility Details

Kinloch Golf Club offers members and guests a premier golf experience rooted in Southern hospitality. With world-class course conditions, attentive service, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, Kinloch is recognized as one of the most distinctive private clubs in the country.

Designed by Lester George and Vinny Giles, the 18-hole parkland course blends beautifully with the natural surroundings and is supported by a skilled, professional caddie staff. Members and guests also enjoy luxurious on-site cottage accommodations. Memberships are offered by invitation only.

Originally envisioned as a public course in 1999, the founders soon shifted to a private club model focused on excellence. As Vinny Giles expressed at the time, Kinloch would be “a first-class golf club with immaculate conditioning, a simple yet refined clubhouse, a close-knit membership, and service of the highest quality.

Since opening in 2001, Kinloch has earned widespread acclaim, including Golf Digest #1 Best New Private Course in America. The clubhouse, opened in 2002, reflects Tudor elegance and timeless design. As the National membership grew, the addition of three cottages beginning in 2005 provided members with premium overnight accommodations.

Today, Kinloch Golf Club stands among the finest private clubs in the region and beyond, committed to tradition, quality, and the enduring spirit of the game.

Nestled on 255 acres, Kinloch is dedicated to providing members and guests with a premier golf experience, world-class course conditions, and a staff committed to exemplary service. Our genuine and comfortable southern atmosphere is sure to inspire you. Located just outside Richmond, the Club is close to Charlottesville and only two hours from Washington, DC. The cost of living is very attractive.

Kinloch Golf Club features an outstanding Lester George and Vinny Giles parkland-style 18-hole layout over beautiful bent grass fairways and greens. The grounds are impeccably maintained by a crew of 35. Rated as one of the best conditioned courses in the county by Golf Digest. Kinloch is a true golf club. With three well-appointed cottages of 8 bedrooms each for out-of-town golf guests, which are generally booked in season, a Training Center of five bays, three with trackman, a club fitting studio, and a Director of Instruction who reports to the Head Golf Professional, our passion and that of our members is golf.

Service is a priority over the bottom line, but the primary drivers of our food and beverage program are making sure we have controls and keeping the membership happy. Our chef has been in place for the past two years and has greatly improved during this time.

The Food and Beverage Service Manager at Kinloch Golf Club is a dynamic leadership role responsible for training, directing, and coordinating service operations to ensure the Kinloch Experience is delivered in all customer interactions.  This position plays a crucial role in training frontline service teams, managing and maintaining operations, and supporting the club's overall goals. Ideal candidates will bring a blend of leadership acumen, operational expertise, and a passion for customer satisfaction in the hospitality, private club, or related service industries.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Train our team to constantly strive to fulfill the Kinooch Experience
  • Be the Lead and oversee the day-to-day activities of the service department to ensure efficient, high-quality operations.
  • Coordinate service teams, including servers, hosts, and food & beverage staff, ensuring cohesive and professional service delivery.

Customer Experience

  • Promote a culture of service excellence to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Proactively address and resolve customer concerns and complaints in a courteous, timely Serve as the primary point of escalation for service-related issues.

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor and enforce service standards during operational hours.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent guest experiences.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine service workflows to improve efficiency.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and supervise service staff in alignment with company standards. 
  • Attend college job fairs to promote the club and secure interns for upcoming years. 
  • Conduct ongoing training programs to enhance team performance, product knowledge, and service techniques.
  • Provide continuous feedback, coaching, and formal performance evaluations.
  • Implement corrective measures as needed to ensure a high-performing team.

Inventory & Supply Oversight

  • Manage inventory levels for service-related items, ensuring timely ordering and cost-effective procurement.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure quality products and maintain stock levels.

Financial Stewardship

  • Support budget preparation and monitor department expenditures, labor costs, and revenue metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs while preserving service excellence.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., kitchen, bar, administration) to ensure alignment and seamless customer service.
  • Foster open and effective communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Train staff in safe food handling, emergency procedures, and cleanliness protocols.

Educational Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in service management or supervisory roles within a customer service-driven industry.
  • Prior experience in private club or high-end hospitality environments is highly desirable.

Certifications

  • Valid Food Safety Certification.
  • Completion of Customer Service Excellence or similar professional training is preferred.
