Unique Club/Facility Details

In October of 1988, a group of 46 individuals from Howard County, who shared a common interest in golf, formed what is now known as Cattail Creek Country Club, Inc. The group chose golf course architect Willard Byrd of Atlanta, Georgia, to assist in the selection of the site of the course and the design of the facility. In 1990, the current 168-acre site was chosen due to its rolling, rural topography, and extensive water resources. The course opened for play in July 1993 under the leadership of theGolf Course Superintendent and the voluntary efforts of many of the early members.
Thirty years later, Cattail Creek Country Club is a premier family-friendly, full-service Club that is known as an environment where family values are fostered, and business needs to entertain can all happen in one beautiful place. Cattail Creek is a truly unique and desirable club and offers something for everybody.

The Club is currently recognized as one of the top golf courses in Maryland and offers the 800+ members seven Har-Tru tennis courts, pickleball, Olympic-size swimming pool with a large patio, kiddie pool, and diving well, poolside food service, fitness facility, and a beautifully renovated 26,000 sq. ft. Clubhouse with two dining outlets for casual and fine dining. There are several event spaces where members can host private parties as well as larger spaces to entertain the entire membership.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
The Club has recently invested $8 million in a major Clubhouse renovation that touched most areas of the Clubhouse and reopened in 2021. The result is a large upstairs event space with a larger bar area and casual dining on the lower level serviced with all new equipment and dining ware. Both have fabulous views of the pond and the rolling terrain of the golf course.

The Club maintains a capital expenditure budget, which allows for necessary facilities and amenities enhancements, proposed by committees and determined by the Board of Directors annually. Possible future enhancements include golf course hole improvements, renovation of the upper level of Clubhouse to incorporate an upscale bar and lounge experience, more Member Wine Lockers, modifications to the pool/fitness center, a new Turn House, and other potential projects.

Club is open 6 days per week, 11 months per year.
