Job Description
Woodmont Country Club—one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier private clubs—is seeking a dynamic, service-driven Food & Beverage Manager to join our leadership team. This individual plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional member dining experience across all outlets by leading front-of-house operations, upholding service standards, and fostering a culture of hospitality and excellence.
The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for supervising daily dining room operations, managing and developing service staff, supporting event execution, and maintaining seamless communication between culinary and service teams. This leader will be highly visible during service, engaging with members and guests to ensure satisfaction and address opportunities for improvement.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, polished, and engaged hospitality professional with strong leadership abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for building high-performing teams. This role requires a commitment to operational excellence, member satisfaction, and Woodmont’s longstanding tradition of outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Oversee all front-of-house dining operations to ensure consistent adherence to service standards.

Maintain a polished, organized, and welcoming environment in all dining areas.

Conduct regular floor presence and table visits to elevate member engagement and satisfaction.
Staff Training & Development
-
Lead onboarding, training, and continuous development of service staff.

Uphold grooming, appearance, and performance standards across the team.

Ensure ongoing updates to SOPs, policy manuals, and best practices.
Service Excellence & Coordination
-
Manage staff scheduling, dining room setup, and daily service preparation.

Foster effective communication between culinary and service teams to ensure smooth operations.

Support event execution, banquet functions, and special club programming.
Compliance & Quality Control

Maintain compliance with all food safety, alcohol service, and regulatory requirements.

Ensure accurate POS reconciliation, recordkeeping, and revenue tracking.

Monitor and control service quality, cost efficiency, and workflow processes.
Member & Guest Relations
-
Resolve member/guest concerns promptly and professionally while communicating appropriate follow-up.

Identify opportunities to enhance food presentation, service delivery, and overall dining experiences.
Strategic & Collaborative Leadership

Support the Club’s long-term vision for service excellence and operational improvement.

Promote a collaborative, solutions-oriented work environment across all departments.

Contribute ideas for innovative service initiatives, member engagement, and operational enhancements.
Candidate Qualifications
- Proven experience in food & beverage management within a private club, luxury hospitality, or high-volume dining environment.

Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to train, develop, and mentor service teams.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with members, guests, and staff.

Commitment to delivering elevated service standards and maintaining a culture of hospitality and accountability.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong understanding of service operations, scheduling, event coordination, and front-of-house best practices.

Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements, including alcohol service and food safety standards.

Ability to collaborate effectively with culinary, operations, and administrative teams to ensure seamless member experiences.

Flexible schedule with the ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods as required.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.

Equivalent combination of education and professional experience in food & beverage management will be considered.

Formal training or certifications in hospitality, leadership, ServSafe, or alcohol safety compliance are a plus.

Commitment to continued professional development through industry certifications, workshops, or CMAA education is strongly encouraged.
