Job Description

The Club at 3 Creek is seeking a highly motivated Club Operations Intern to join our team for the 2026 summer season. This paid, full-time internship is designed for an undergraduate student pursuing a career in private club management, hospitality leadership, or club operations.

This internship provides a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to private club operations, with a majority of the program focused on Food & Beverage, plus structured exposure to key operational departments, including Events, Golf Operations, Human Resources, Fitness, Racquets, and Marketing.

The program is intentionally designed as a developmental pipeline experience, preparing high-potential candidates for future Manager-in-Development (MID) or entry-level management roles within the private club industry.

The intern will report directly to the Assistant General Manager and participate in a structured, progressive program during the Club’s peak summer season.

 

Program Structure & Experience

The Club Operations Intern will participate in a Summer Season progressive learning program, indicative of best practices from leading private clubs, such as 3 Creek.

-Core Areas of Exposure-

Food & Beverage Operations:

  • A la carte dining service and daily operations
  • Banquet and private event execution
  • Bar and beverage operations
  • Exposure to wine and beverage programs under the tutelage of a WSET Diploma holder
  • Pool Grill daily operations
  • Service standards, member engagement, and hospitality culture

The intern will progressively move from observation to active operational support, assisting supervisors and managers during peak service periods.

Operational & Leadership Exposure:

Human Resources & Housing Coordination:

  • Assisting with seasonal staff onboarding
  • Supporting employee housing coordination during peak move-in periods
  • Exposure to HR processes, communication, and employee relations

Golf Operations:

  • Shadowing the Director of Golf and golf operations leadership
  • Exposure to daily golf operations and member services
  • Tournament planning, execution, and scoring logistics
  • Introduction to golf retail and merchandising operations

Events & Club Programming:

  • Supporting planning and execution of member events and special functions
  • Exposure to event logistics, timelines, and cross-department coordination

Fitness & Wellness:

  • Shadowing the Fitness Director
  • Exposure to fitness programming, member engagement, and operations

Racquet Sports:

  • Exposure to racquet operations, programming, and member experience
  • Supporting events, clinics, or tournaments as appropriate

Communications (Exposure-Based):

  • Introduction to internal communications, event promotion, and member engagement strategies

Rotations may adjust slightly based on Club needs, seasonal demands, and learning opportunities.

The intern will rotate through departmental areas while progressively assuming greater responsibility.

Schedule & Commitment

  • Full-time, seasonal position (minimum 40 hours per week)
  • Schedule includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on club operations
  • Program runs from mid-May through mid-September or October, depending on academic calendar

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

  • Is currently pursuing, or has recently graduated from, an undergraduate or graduate degree in hospitality management, private club management, business, or a related field
  • Has maintained a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
  • Has a strong interest in the private club industry as a long-term career path
  • Is curious, adaptable, and eager to learn across multiple departments in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates professionalism, humility, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Enjoys working with people and delivering high-level service
  • Is adaptable and comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak season
  • Possesses a genuine passion for hospitality and member experience
