Founded in 1915, Marietta Country Club is a member-owned club in Kennesaw, Georgia, located 28 miles from downtown Atlanta. The Club features 27 spectacular holes of Robert Cupp-designed golf, offering challenging risks and rewards for golfers of all skill levels. Set on historic Civil War era farmland, the Club's "three nines" yield vistas of Kennesaw Mountain, beautiful lakes, ponds, and streams.

The Tennis facility includes 8 immaculately maintained HydroCourt clay courts and 4 all-weather Laykold hard courts, and two Pickle Ball courts. The Club has a Fitness facility including a weight room, locker rooms, and a group fitness room. The Pool complex includes the Pool, Rose Pavilion, and Snack Bar. The Clubhouse features three dining rooms the 1915 Grille, Mountain View Lounge, and the Turn Grill, 5 Kitchens, and 6 Banquet Rooms.

Pool & Pavilion Service Supervisor

Job Description

Marietta Country Clubs Pool dining facilities features a new $3.2 million dollar pavilion and kitchen renovation.  The Pool offers Food and Beverage services at the Rose Pavilion which can accommodate up to 80 people as well as pool deck service from the Snack Bar. 

The Pool Supervisor is responsible for all pool service activities including overseeing the Pool Pavilion, Snack Bar, Pool Deck, and Registration area. The Pool Supervisor works closely with the Food and Beverage Managers to ensure membership expectations are consistently exceeded.

Job Tasks (Duties)

  • Responsible for staff levels and service quality at the Pool Pavilion and Pool Deck.
  • Schedules and receives time off requests for direct reports.
  • Counsels with other managers and employees about grievances and complaints.
  • Ensures shifts operate effectively and efficiently.  Directly oversees the flow of service.
  • Maintains contact with members and helps to assure maximum member satisfaction.
  • Participates in on-going facility inspections throughout the Pool area to assure that cleanliness, safety, and other standards are consistently attained.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating club updates and information to areas of responsibility.
  • Inspect grooming and attire of staff. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Attends and actively contributes to management and staff meetings.
  • Assist in planning and implementing of procedures and entertainment for special club events.
  • Coaches subordinates and gives clear direction on daily tasks/duties. 
  • Develops consistent training standards and programs to ensure highest levels of service are achieved.
  • Assist with Inventory and maintains par levels for all supplies and equipment.
  • Handles member and guest complaints in a positive and professional manner while following club guidelines.
  • Works and actively takes on a leadership role in banquets when scheduled.
  • Attends management and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience in the hospitality field. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence subordinates.
  • Self-sufficient and able to manage time wisely.
  • A strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
  • Must be a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership for assigned areas.
  • Must be able to use good judgement and make impactful decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong sense of self awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Has the ability to work as a team member.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment during seasonal functions.
