Riverside & Aquatics Intern

Job Description

The Riverside & Aquatics intern position is designed to provide hands-on experience and develop the skills necessary for advancement to an entry or mid-management position.  The primary role is to participate in and direct the effective service of food and beverage and pool activities for the ultimate enjoyment by members and their guests.  The areas that will be overseen include Pool Operations, a La Carte service on the Riverside dining area, and Snack Shack service. Rotation through operations will encompass Event Operations, Front Desk Services, and meetings with department leaders.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Partners with Lead Lifeguard to enforce pool safety protocols for lifeguards.
  • Creates and implements fun and engaging activities for families in the pool area.
  • Works in partnership with Food & Beverage Managers and Captains to understand, clarify and successfully execute all details pertaining to an assigned area.
  • Ensure the Snack Shack is properly prepared for each day’s service. Helps to create standard-operating-procedures and protocols.  
  • Develops a working knowledge of the use and management of the reservation and point of sale systems.  
  • Works with staff to adhere to service standards, steps of service and member engagement.
  • Assists with training, coaching, and development opportunities for Servers, Bartenders, and support staff.
  • Provides exceptional service and effective service recovery tactics.
  • Attends weekly Food & Beverage Leadership meetings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter that works well in a team environment
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Educational Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a Hospitality Management program
  • Food and Beverage experience preferred
