Founded in 1908, the club sits on an 8-acre peninsula extending into Norwalk Harbor; the Shore and Country Club, Inc. provides a unique waterfront environment for its members. Its focal points are the 25-yard freshwater pool, children’s pool, two sanded beaches, ten tennis courts, a 98-slip marina, a beach house that offers three open-air dining areas facing the beach; the facilities at the beach house also contains modern changing rooms, locker rooms, showers, and family changing rooms, the Club offers several Jr. programs. In addition, the SCC provides a 30,000+ square foot clubhouse with a ballroom accommodating up to 200 guests, two dining rooms a bar, and multiple administrative offices.

The Shore and Country Club is a family-oriented Club that is proud of the culture and service provided to its members and employees.  The Club’s future is bright, with the Club developing a Master Plan for the 8-acre property to ensure that the Club is relevant to its members.

Food and Beverage Supervisory

Job Description

The Shore and Country Club is seeking motivated and enthusiastic future leaders to participate in our Food and Beverage Supervisory Internship program. This program provides hands-on experience in the hospitality industry, direct exposure to club leadership.

This internship will allow candidates to gain experience leading our team of professionals in the Quarterdeck and Seaside Terrace. While supervising the dining room and bar with an average of 150 covers nightly, the intern will be responsible for leading the team to their greatest potential, conducting pre-shift meetings, and exceeding member expectations. Interns will develop operational knowledge, service skills, and leadership abilities within a professional, member-focused environment.

 

Candidate Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Hospitality Management or related field of study.
  • A team player who is hospitality-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Professional, enthusiastic, and a positive attitude.
  • Eager to learn and adapt to new job tasks as well as the ability to multi-task.
  • Proactive in individual and group task settings.
  • Excellent communication skills.
