Southwood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Florida, is a thoughtfully designed Semi-Private course known for its scenic layout, playability, and community-centered atmosphere. Built by the St. Joe Company in 2002. The 277 acre, 18 hole par 72 course was designed by PGA Tour legend Fred Couples and the renowned golf architect Gene Bates. The course features rolling fairways lined with mature pines, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards that come into play on several signature holes, offering a balanced challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well-maintained with subtle undulations that reward precision without overwhelming casual players. We are proud partners with our local First Tee Chapter and are excited to host them year round for programming and events. Soon, First Tee will be a neighbor with their own indoor programming facilicty and event space on the property!
Beyond the course itself, Southwood is integrated into a vibrant residential community, featuring over 2500 homes and over 1000 acres of parks and green spaces giving it a welcoming and relaxed feel. Job Title
Food and Beverage Director
Job Description
This position will be running the food and beverage department for Southwood Golf Club.
You will oversee a staff of 20-25 people, including the head chef and a FOH supervisor.
Must have experience in running a restaurant, banquet events, supervising a Chef, orders, bar knowledge, cost control, and customer service in semi-private clubs.
Must also have experience in hiring/firing, scheduling, and training waitstaff. Preferably 2-3 years of experience in these fields at a minimum.
Availability is weekdays and weekends, some early mornings. Usually working no later than 9 pm with weekends. 45-50 hours a week. College degree preferred in related field but not required.
Candidate Qualifications
2-5 years in management experience in running restaurants, preferred as GM or department head but not required
college degree in related field preferred
a background of at least 1 year in running banquets
experience in making schedules, ordering, inventory, haacp, costing, pos, and more.
Educational Requirements
4 year degree preferred in related field but not required, years of experience in restaurants/banquets will make up for degree
