About Walnut Creek Country Club

Walnut Creek sits on land with deep roots in Wayne County history. In the late 1960s, a group of forward-thinking local partners came together with a shared vision of creating a premier recreational haven for the community. In 1967, renowned architect Ellis Maples brought that vision to life with a championship 18-hole golf course set among mature greenery on the shores of an expansive lake.

The lake is one of the Club's great treasures, offering a wide range of recreational activities and a scenic backdrop that sets Walnut Creek apart from other clubs in the region.

The Club has continued to grow and invest ever since. Today members enjoy inviting dining spaces, modern locker and shower facilities, a busy golf pro shop and driving range, tennis and pickleball courts, and newly renovated swimming pools. The Club recently completed a  renovation of over $400,000 of its ballroom, which now hosts gatherings of up to  guests, making it one of the premier event venues in Eastern North Carolina.

From golf tournaments to tennis/pickleball competitions to entertainment and social events, the calendar is full year-round. Walnut Creek has hosted Pro-Am tournaments and has even been featured on television, showcasing the community spirit that makes the Club special.
