Brief Job Description

In addition to operational exposure, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club's Food and Beverage Intern will be provided training, one-on-one coaching and mentorship, and provided with regular individual feedback through throughout the program. Interns are required to complete learning objectives. Interns will sit down with the Clubhouse Manager throughout the season to discuss experience reviews, and intern evaluations. A brief overview of the position includes:

•Primary responsibility will be serving A la Carte Luncheon, Member and Non-Member Banquets, Golf Outings and Events. 

•Suggest menu items and wines; serve and clear tables, make drinks, daily cleanup. 

•Assisting and analyzing with monthly inventory. 

•Assist with banquet set-up and clean up.

•Attending to the Jefferson Bar (Halfway House).

•Assisting with receiving, distributing and storage of supplies. 

•Handling member requests with diligence and grace.

Candidate Qualifications

• Must have a year’s experience in Food and Beverage.

• Have a strong desire to invest, succeed, learn, and bring a positive attitude to work every day.

• High level of attention to detail.

• Fluent in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

• Current, valid driver’s license.

Educational Requirements

• Enrolled or recently graduated from an undergraduate level education in Hospitality or Club Management at a recognized University.

• CMAA Student or Alumni Member.

Other Benefits

• All rent and utilities are paid by the Club.

• $20 charge per week for cleaning services. All rent and utilities are paid by the Club.

• You will be required to pay a $250 refundable damage deposit prior to moving in.

• You will be sharing a ranch-style home on property about a four minute walk to work. The accommodation includes a shared bedroom and bathroom, dining room, living room, full kitchen with a washer/dryer, Smart TV and ultra-high speed Wi-Fi.
