Job Title

Intern

Brief Job Description

Interns will touch on subjects such as planning, club management as well as daily operations of multiple departments. The internship is a paid employment and may act as a practicum position to deliver credits back to the college or university of choice. The NGC management team focuses on the proper training methods considered best for the Intern’s development. The early stages of hands-on training are essential to the growth of the intern’s ability to take on assigned tasks in the future.

Training will begin with a meeting with the General Manager, tour of the Club and an explanation of each area of the Club. Once comfortable with the surroundings, the intern will go through a Food & Beverage training program.  Food and Beverage Interns will concentrate on learning about dining and events operations within the private club industry and how it affects a club operation. This position provides opportunities for the intern to be exposed to:

  • Service styles such as;  à la carte, banquets, buffets, etc.
  • Events such as; club events, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings, rehearsal dinners, business meetings, etc.
  • Working as a team member where the emphasis is respect and consideration for our members and each other.

Following this, the interns will work hands on by assisting and overseeing various aspects of the Club’s daily operation. In addition to normal daily Food & Beverage duties, the intern may be scheduled to assist with other departments throughout the Club to gain experience.  As club events are planned throughout the season, the intern will play a vital role contributing to the success of the occasions. Over time, the intern will be assigned increased responsibilities that come with being a team leader.
