Brief Job Description

Position Title: Student Intern, Food and Beverage Level I and Level II
Reports to: Food and Beverage Managers 

Supervises: None 
FLSA Status: Non-exempt 

As one of the premier clubs in the Southeast, the Food and Beverage internship program at Greenville County Club offers a tiered experience which encompasses all aspects of culinary services within the club.  The Level I Internship is curated for students who are new to the club indistry or The program is designed for individuals who are preparing for a career path within the club and hospitality industry and will allow students the opportunity to be involved in the day-to-day operations of the club.  

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:  

  • Attend training through hostess, food runner, server assistant, server and bartender/barback 

  • Work alongside the food and beverage team to serve guests in our a la carte dining spaces 

  • Efficiently serves food and beverages in a friendly and courteous manner, offering suggestions 

  • Properly communicates with management on issues with food and/or service 

  • Assist in the set up and breakdown of events 

  • Assist in keeping all dining and service areas clean and organized throughout service 

  • Follows all club, state and federal policies, standards, and laws regarding service of alcohol to members and their guests 

  • Exposure to all club departments 

  • Club tour to other facilities for educational and networking experience 

  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor or other department heads

Candidate Qualifications

  • Follows all food & beverage health safety guidelines and alcohol service protocols 

Physical Requirements 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time 

  • Must be able to move about the kitchen to access and use equipment and items needed for recipes 

  • Must be able to identify items needed from established recipes 

  • Frequent positioning of self to reach stock 

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs. 

  • Involves working in a kitchen environment with some exposure to heat, humidity, and noise 

Educational Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year hospitality program
