Overview
Grey Oaks Club offers two types of internships – an Area Specific Internship or a Club Management Rotational Internship. Both provide interns with an exciting, comprehensive and hands-on experience through all facets of one of the most prestigious private clubs in the country. Learning directly from a team of veteran hospitality leaders, you will be fully immersed in the inner workings of one of the most active and highly rated Clubs in the Country. Our internship goal is to help develop and build you into the leader that can take on the challenges of today’s ever changing hospitality landscape and set you up for success in the private club and hospitality industry. For Rotational Interns you will have the opportunity to work directly with Don Emery, our General Manager. His previous interns have gone on to become the President of CMAA (Randy Ruder), own a Fitness Club, work as department leaders of prestigious private clubs such as Los Angeles Country Club, The Country Club in Brookline MA, The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe, Dessert Mountain Club, Bay Hill Club & Lodge, hold top executive jobs in privately owned restaurants, and work at some of the top casinos (Harrah’s) and hotels (Marriot, Hilton, Dream) in the world. For Grounds Interns you will work with Juan Gutierrez (Director of Golf Courses and Grounds), for Golf Interns you will be led by the dynamic team of Rich TerHaar and Leslye Dyke (Co-Directors of Golf). Wellness Interns will work with Les Johns (Director of Fitness and Wellness) and Racquets Interns will be under the direction of Mike Curran (Director of Racquet Sports).  For Catering and Special Events Jennifer Ullysse will lead your journey. Food and Beverage Interns will work with Daniel Giroux (Director of Food and Beverage). Derin Moore, CMC, Director of Culinary Operations and Tom Vaccaro, CMPC, Executive Pastry Chef, lead a competitive culinary internship/externship. Kathy Bryant, Director of Membership will guide Membership interns. Mira Hale, Director of Marketing & Communications, will mentor and lead marketing interns. Housekeeping interns will work with Eric Kelly, Director of Facilities.

2.Your Area Specific Internship Experience includes

  • Work with your Department Head in one area of the Club for your entire internship to maximize yourlearning and advancement in a specific area

  • Daily Access to Club Leadership

You will experience all aspects of Club operations, front line roles and Mid-Management training through team leadership, and operations.

Educational Requirements

Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a 4-year Hospitality, Turf, Golf, Wellness or Racquets Program from an accredited University or College Other educational circumstances or ample amount of experience will be addressed on a case by case basis.
