Job Description
The Country Club of Troy is seeking an energetic individual to work closely with the Dining Services and Events Manager in coordinating events and functions. This position will be exposed to and gain experience in the day-to-day club dining service and events. This includes working with the Dining Services and Events Manager receiving training and executing Event Planning, Event Set-up and Execution and Billing. He/She will work with team members and other departments to assure that the member’s and guest’s expectations and experiences are exceeded and the details of events and dining are in place. Further, this individual will assist in the planning and execution of all member and non-member events. In addition, good communication skills will be needed to develop and communicate club events and dining services through newsletters, calendar, email blasts and other communication methods.
Candidate Qualifications
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations:
- Assist in coordination of the club’s dining facilities for private banquets, business, and social events.
- Have good organizational skills, planning, and execution of member and non-member events.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage operations is required as they are directly related to event operations.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
- The candidate will be able to supervise dining room staff on event preparation, room set-up and execution.
- The candidate will learn to develop and implement programs to increase revenue through repeat business and upselling event packages.
The individual must have a good work ethic, be dependable and able to work in a high paced environment. He/She must be professional and courteous in dealing with members and staff. Knowledge of private club food & beverage operations is a plus, but not mandatory.
This is a full-time, seasonal position with the potential to lead to a full-time position in the future for the right candidate. Salary will be determined based on education, experience, and abilities. Note: Housing is not included so suitable for candidates with local residency options.
Educational Requirements
The successful candidate should be enrolled in or graduating with a degree in hospitality or event management.
