Special Club Features

The Coleman Lake Club is a private fishing and hunting club located on 10,000 acres in Northeastern Wisconsin.  The Club prides it’s staff on their excellence in serving our members and their families with friendly, authentic and energetic staff. 

The Club cooks and serves 3 sit down plated and/or family style meals at set times in the dining room and provides for picnic or take-out options.  We operate 2 different kitchens and dining rooms (2.5 miles from each other) on the property, serving over 6000 meals/season.

In addition, the Coleman Lake Club is dedicated to providing additional opportunities for personal and professional growth for individuals seeking a career hospitality. A goal of summer employment at the Club is to help employees gain more experience and improve their opportunities to succeed with their career. We operate 15 on-site cabins and a Club House style hotel for members by reservation. All cabins have daily housekeeping service.

Brief Job Description

65%- Cooks Helper: Including, but not limited to:

  • Work with the cook in preparing meals
  • Prepare ‘salad bar’ items and plated salads
  • Bake from scratch cookies & bread, make dressings, etc.
  • Ensure that food is properly handled to maintain a high standard of quality and sanitation
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen and work area, including the timely washing of all kitchenware and appliances
  • Prepare ‘take-out’ meals and picnics, as requested by members
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment including broilers, ovens, deep fat fryers, ranges, choppers, slicers and mixers
  • Assist with menus and preparation of staff meals

15%- Server Work Duties:  Including, but not limited to:

  • Assist in preparing seating assignments and prepare dining room
  • Greet members and their guests, deliver glassware and beverages
  • Meet diner’s needs, deliver food, clear dishes
  • Clean & dry all China, glassware, silverware and serving utensils

15%- Hospitality/Kitchen Management:  Including, but not limited to:

  • Assist in preparing menus, food inventories, weekly ordering and stocking
  • Assist in member reservations and daily housekeeping & server scheduling
  • Assist in supplying members with special dietary needs and requests

5%- Other duties as assigned:

  • Assist with routine kitchen and dining room maintenance

Candidate Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to nature of the work and the tools to be used;
  • Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and be successful with minimal guidance;
  • Must work well with a Team and follow work plans and directions;
  • Must have good communication and decision- making skills;
  • Must be a responsible and mature individual;
  • Must have driver’s license and good driving history
  • Must have a pleasing personality and the ability to work and get along well with others;
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly, as well as reaching, bending, pulling and pushing in the normal performance of the job duties;
  • Must have the ability to work a varied schedule that includes some evenings, and holidays;
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

Educational Requirements

  • Preference given to applicants currently enrolled in a Culinary Arts program or related Food Services Management program.

Other Benefits

  • No cost housing on the Coleman Lake Club property during your employment period, and
  • Three (3) prepared meals per day at 7:00 AM, 12:00 PM and at 6:30 PM.
