Colonial Country Club is a historic, private and family-oriented club with over 1,400 member families, located three miles from the heart of downtown Fort Worth, nestled in the beautiful TCU area. The Club offers a legendary golf experience and state-of-the-art teachiing facility in addition to hosting an annual PGA event each May. This event is the longest running PGA event to be held at the same venue. Our membership enjoys a variety of F&B experiences with several venue choices and special events (i.e., wine dinners, virtual tastings, Fall Festival   etc.). Currently under a four year complete master plan upscale renovation to enhance world class service and experience. At Colonial Country Club when we source talent, we are not just looking for experience and achievement. We are looking for passion and spirit.for camaraderie and curiosity for insight and impact.

Job Description

We are a private, member-owned club located in the beautiful TCU area of Fort Worth, Texas. Established in 1936, Colonial is an iconic part of Fort Worth history and culture. The Club has also been selected by the Club Leaders Forum as a Platinum Club of America.

We are searching for a Member Events Assistant. This position will be responsible for member events operations. This role requires a high attention to detail, creativity and strong organization skills.  Candidates with clear communication skills who can cultivate a warm welcoming environment will stand out. A positive attitude and ability to anticipate needs and/or promptly resolve potential issues will make you successful in this role.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and the ability to engage energetically with a large diversity of members and their families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists with planning events from conception through completion, including contacting vendors, working with various departments including Front Desk (reservations), Culinary (menu), Banquets (set-up), etc.
  • Generates Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for each function and communicates event details to appropriate staff via daily/weekly event packets and weekly Food & Beverage meetings
  • Maintains P&Ls for each member event
  • Conducts “walk-throughs” of rooms prior to events ensuring set up is in accordance with BEO. Consults with Banquet Manager and Chef to answer any last minute questions
  • Attends all assigned events to manage client relationship and assists operations in event execution when necessary
  • Interacts with clients/guests/staff as needed to address service or operational issues/concerns

Candidate Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Good organizational, planning and coordination skills
  • Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize as needed
  • Desire to take full ownership of assigned projects and can work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Possesses a sense of urgency in addition to self-motivation and strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Proactive approach in resolving problems and issues

Experience/Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years event planning or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to “flex” work schedule on occasion if necessary.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
