Our fitness team consists of over twenty personal trainers/class instructors, two physical therapists, one dietician, and one non-invasive pain specialist. We have 8 outdoor and lighted pickleball courts at our racquets center. Four bocce courts at our Wellness Center

About the Position

This position will have the responsibility of providing exceptional golf courses for Grey Oaks' Members and guests. The AIT reports directly to the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and operates under direction and participation in the day-to-day maintenance and agronomic practices. The position is designed to increase the team members knowledge, skills, and abilities in their career in turf.

As with all positions, the position will continually exemplify and promote the core values, mission, and culture of the Grey Oaks Country Club team.

We are looking for individuals with a self-drive and passion for the turf industry. Attention to detail is particularly important.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Under the mentoring and direction of the Assistant Golf Superintendent, you will;

  • Participate in the long- and short-term planning related to golf course renovations, care & maintenance

  • Lead the team by delegating daily assignments; provide guidance and assistance and ensure work is completed as expected and in a timely manner

  • Lead projects related to course renovations or repairs

  • Assist in the training of new and existing staff in golf course set-up and maintenance, equipment operations, safety procedures and the expectations of the Club

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend corrective action for agronomic problem areas

  • Assist in the daily set-up and maintenance of the golf course, including routine golf course maintenance, chemical applications, and equipment operations

  • All other duties as assigned by management

 Education/Experience

2+ years' experience in the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, greens; the seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf. Understands the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners, herbicides and pest control methods and materials 

  • Currently enrolled or graduated from a two or four-year Turfgrass Management program, certificate program, or related field or enroll within 6 months post-employment.

  • Interested in pursuing a Pesticide Applicator License for the state of Florida, or the ability to obtain one within 6 - 12 months post-employment

  • Experience working at golf courses at private clubs or at high end resorts strongly desired
