About the Position
The Health Fitness Instructor is responsible for assisting members and guests of all fitness levels ranging from improving overall wellness to sports performance training inclusive of individuals with various medical conditions requiring specialized rehabilitation programming. Coordinates and implements health promotion programs and activities. Facilitates behavior change, maximizes engagement and outcomes, and assists in program tracking and reporting.
This position reports to the Director of Wellness/Fitness.

Primary Responsibilities
· Promote Wellness Program initiatives through the design of presentations, written communications, and other promotional materials.
· With the support of internal and external health partners, coordinate the planning and assist in the delivery and the understanding of wellness & educational programs such as, Health & Fitness Assessments, Body Composition Analysis, Functional Movement Screenings and Metabolism testing awareness. This also includes educational campaigns, behavior change programs, health assessments and health screenings.
· Conduct and/or participate in health education seminars; oversee monthly wellness education meetings.
· Conduct outreach activities to increase participation and reengage inactive participants.
· Assist in conducting or coordinating the delivery of team member health related training.
· Train the People Operations team on recommended wellness support programs for staff such as blood drives, vaccines, etc.
· Research health and fitness educational topics and identify appropriate participation.
· Recommend and develop wellness incentive programs to promote team member engagement. Collect and evaluate program statistics, create reports, and recommend improvement plans.
· Evaluate delivery of all services and recommend effective integration with health partners (e.g., insurance carriers, safety, EAP, etc.).
· Meet a variety of member wellness needs by liaising with the Wellness Advisory Committee to create and implement effective programs.
· Develop and implement a plan to distribute wellness information (e.g., changes to programming, promote wellness activities)
· Prepare and maintain records/ databases for the purpose of recording data for wellness programs.
· Evaluate the success of the wellness program by determining participant satisfaction levels.
Education/Experience
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a medical, health and wellness environment.
· Proven experience as a fitness instructor.
· Strong organizational skills in maintaining accurate records, schedules and in facilitating and managing a program of multiple activities and resources.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills in all aspects, verbally, writing and listening.
· Comprehensive knowledge and experience in educational resources, methods, curriculums and in measuring performance.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Current certifications in fitness, nutrition, and group exercise in accordance with FL state law.
· Bachelor’s Degree in sports or health sciences or relevant field or relevant experience.
