Special Club Features

The Country Club of Harrisburg was established in 1896 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and features the finest in private Club amenities including golf, racquet sports, indoor & outdoor dining, multigenerational social calendar of events, and multiple meeting spaces.

Members enjoy an 18-Hole William Flynn designed course, 6 tennis courts, 4 of which are clay and the ever-growing pickleball is available for all ages. Sporting clays and a swimming pool are also available to members.

CCH also offers a variety of private lessons, group clinics, junior programs, and interclub leagues for every sport, age, and level of play. From our seasonal Championship Swim Team to Tennis and Golf League play.

CCH is known for being an intimate, boutique-style club that is fun and friendly, as well as a place where lifelong relationships and memories are made. Our members enjoy being social and our calendar of events showcases events such as Lobster Bake, Easter Brunch, Independence Day Celebration, Gingerbread Workshop, Wine Dinners, Cigar Dinners, and more.

Club is open 6 days per week, April – December. Modified winter hours.

Reports to: General Manager

Job Summary: The Clubhouse Manager’s first and foremost responsibility is to oversee all front of the house food and beverage operations at the club. This role ensures that members and guests receive exceptional service and quality a la carte dining experiences, banquets, and events. The Clubhouse Manager will manage staff, budgets, and resources to maintain high standards of service, efficiency, and profitability. Additional duties include assisting with inventories, membership tours, and marketing strategies to enhance member participation. This job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to change based on the needs of the club.    

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, including restaurant, bars, banquets, and catering services.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Maintain high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness.
    • Devise and implement policies and procedures for the clubhouse.
  2. Staff Management:
    • Recruit, train, and supervise F&B staff, including servers, and bartenders.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff performance and guest satisfaction.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching.
  3. Financial Management:
    • Prepare and manage budgets, including forecasting and financial planning.
    • Monitor and control labor costs.
    • Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
  4. Member and Guest Experience:
    • Ensure a high level of member and guest satisfaction by addressing complaints and resolving issues promptly.
    • Develop and implement service standards and procedures.
    • Organize and co-manage special events and functions, including weddings, parties, and club events. This task will include working closely with the Event Planner.
  5. Menu and Inventory Management:
    • Collaborate with the culinary team to design and update menus.
    • Ensure the quality and presentation of all food and beverages meet club standards.
  6. Marketing and Promotion:
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote F&B services and events.
    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
  7. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food and beverage service.
    • Implement and maintain safety and sanitation standards.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a private club or upscale hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
